Hivemind question: how would you rate the quality of the signing between Emma and her mother?
Heroes 1: We Could Be Heroes
[NAFDA]. This is where we talk about the show and ancillary materials such as web comics! Anything that's aired in the US (including promos) is fair game. No spoilers though -- if you post one by accident, an admin will delete it. Chuffa, Chuffa!
The actress playing Emma is deaf, so I'd assume that her signing is pretty good.
Okay, so Grethen's in the clear (for now). She still makes me feel icky.
Hopefully Samuel will now stop going on about replacing Joseph. Even RK can't make that repetition tolerable.
I FFed through most of the Carnival scenes, but I'm glad I finally got an answer to where in the hell it was. I couldn't work out how everyone kept getting there. Asked and answered.
Sweatpants are no one's friends. That was awful.
Peter better get hot and sweaty with Emma. He's edging into Gunn territory with the two shirts. It's criminal.
Brigadoon!Ferris Wheel made me feel a lot better about my whole, "How did a bunch of carnies end up in Japan?" angst.
I kind of liked the episode... not coincidentally, there were a lot of female characters with agency in it.
Plus Zachary Quinto got to have Teh Angst. (He EARNED those emo bangs, damnit.)
(He EARNED those emo bangs, damnit.)
Now we know why Pete Wentz hacked his off -- World Class Emo Bangs are like CPAs.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels icky about Gretchen. hrm.
I can't get my mind around WHAT THAT COP WAS DOING OMG. Is it standard procedure to arrest, bully, and handcuff someone who's wandering and obviously out of it? Seriously?
Really liking Emma and would not mind if she and Peter got busy. (what would *those* sounds look like, one wonders [evilly]??)
I didn't see that twist with the sorority girl coming, which was nice.
To go back and answer dcp's question, the Signing was good, not a direct word-for-word of the English, but the same basic idea, just more natural to ASL. I wish they'd not cut to reaction shots while someone else is signing, to get the whole of the "line reading".
