There's a goodly number of people, me included, who suspect he can only nullify psionic powers -- mind reading, mind control -- and that it's not a seperate ability ... just a side-benefit of his own psionic talents.
Oooh, that would 'splain why Nathan could fly away.
I think the big challenge for Peter is that his recall method for accessing a power is to think of the person he got it from.

Oh, on Sylar's powers, didn't HRG actually shoot him several times, but he got away really fast? Wouldn't that mean he's got some kind of super healing too? That would be a dupe power since he didn't kill Claire. Or maybe he IS like Peter, and the brain-cutting is for kicks (or what he thinks works).
