Well, it's definitely a power he doesn't seem used to -- he definitely seems to lose track of what he can do, and favors certain powers over others, probably because they come more reflexively. Moreover, Adam had every reason not to remind him of the ability, because he wanted to be alone with the virus while Peter "kept guard" -- Peter would have moved to stop him if he saw him try to unleash it. I still don't see what the point of the gemelos aburridos was/is. Especially the brother. In the end, she didn't even need him and his powers never evolved beyond an ability to suck up (and withstand) black eye goo. Most useless power ever! Although, now that Sylar's got his ability back, I bet he'd love to eat the pretty twin's brain and become immune to the black eye goo himself. I think Maya has a really good shot of taking him out. She doesn't even have to get that close. She killed the whole damn town from inside that cheater's shack in wherever the hell they were from.

Distance is not lending enchantment about the finale for me. So many contrived moments. Why, why would Matt, Peter and Nathan discuss their plan to expose the company (and their own powers) in the damn security vault? Peter and Matt have been prisoners of the company and Nathan for damn sure knows how dangerous they are. He's been in Tobby's office, for heaven's sake, with all that lovely surveillance equipment! And not one of them thought, "Hmm. Someone's probably watching this vault like a hawk. Maybe this is not the best place to divulge the details of our master plan to bring this place to its knees." Really? HRG goes home to let his family know about the secret deal he made to keep them safe and the first thing is does is . . . not hug Claire? Wuh-huh? The Mo stupid is a given, always, but as soon as you realize that Sylar has escaped, why not have Molly find him for you so that you can try, at least TRY, to reach him before he injects himself with the healing blood. He is still just a normal, killable man and he's wounded! He just got barbecued courtesy of Elle, so that means he can't move very fast. You're telling me that he managed to get out of the company and far enough away to find a junkie free, dark NYC alley so that he could shoot up? And even if he did, Sylar is now alone in a junkie free, dark NYC alley. Take black eye goo girl, park her at the end of the alley, run like hell and have her turn on the waterworks until Sylar is dead, dead, dead. I don't think the company would have any qualms about the collateral damage. Oh, Mo. You really are useless.

I like the way your mind works KatP. Of COURSE they could have used Molly to find where Sylar went, rather than sitting together in stupidity. Jeesh, you'd think Elle would have thought of that, if Mo couldn't. Then again, everyone in that room, apart from Molly, is severely broken in some way.

Eh. I still enjoyed a lot of things about this mini-season, particularly in the last run of episodes, and I'm nowhere near ready to give up the ghost. Heck, I even enjoyed a lot of things about the finale. The return of the Broyay. Hiro's continued baby steps toward becoming Future!Hiro. Mo and Sylar's "trust issues" were comedy gold. Watching Maya get shot? Priceless. Still love Elle and all her crazy. Sadly, there were way more valleys than peaks this time around.

Thinking of lost, I'm starting to think that part of Joss' genius was following Buffy S1 with S2. Both Lost and Heroes have been a disappointment. Like I said above, I really like the concept of Heroes and the characters, but the story is just not up to par.

Plus, I'm a bit tired of the random people intersecting but the good guys never getting it together. The Nikki/Micah/Monica storyline was completely unrelated to the rest of the story (or not needed) except that Mohinder was carrying the blood for Nikki. I like Micah, but he could have so easily been cut out. What was the point of Uhura anyway? She was in like 2 scenes and did nothing other than be a grandmother.

I'm starting to think that the Heroes staff really hurt themselves by calling this a finale. It would be much better to blame the loose story ends on the writers' strike. "If it weren't for that strike, we would have done such a good job wrapping all this up!"

In some ways, I wish I hadn't read that story because, as I said upthread, I was actively looking for the changes (ah, there goes Maya, they were true to their word...then wtf, was that a bait and switch!)

If I hadn't expected them to regain their glory, as promised, I'd not have had such high hopes.

Like everyone else here, I was waiting for the Blunder Twins to have a point. I mean, c'mon...the girl can X-Files-black-oil an entire town, right? And falls in love with Sylar, right? I was waiting for Sylar to twist her around, make her happy for her abilities, turn her into his killer-by-proxy until he got his mojo back and then, zappo! Brain soup! Mm-mm good!

Mohinder has become so stupid he's pointless. All he does is provide dumb exposition and excuses for other people to do stuff. Hereon in he shall be known as McGuffin Suresh.

Why kill Nikki/Jessica/Sybil? I liked her. Why keep Monica the Magnificent Mimic? I didn't so much like her. 'course I might've liked her if she had done anything to affect anything outside of Micah.

It felt kinda like Angel S5 in that, by having to "wrap things up" in such a compressed timeframe they abandoned potentially cool stuff, decided not to worry overmuch about making sense and just flailed about until it was over. They also didn't seem to be too concerned about loose ends (Irish Chick; dead? Ceased to exist because the timeline she was trapped in never happened? Wandering around New York City all homeless and going "The fuck? The FUCK?! Spare a dollar, mister?")

I like that Sylar is alive, but wish they'd gone more into why he's such an evil motherfucker. (Mama issues: "Be special, Gabe!" "All right, ma, but I'm gonna have to eat a lot of brains to do it..." "Good boy. Have a tuna fish sandwich.") Instead he came across as evil for evil's sake which BORING!

Too many characters, too many stories, too little time. Add them together and it = "Aw, C'MON! Stop sucking!"
