You know, I have a thought on 3M. We have commented at various times that Mohinder is not the brightest bulb; "box of hair" and so on. And Matt did not seem all that bright either.

But Matt's backstory is that he blamed himself for Bob's leaving. And Matt has only recently come to realize that his father was the screwup rather than himself. (And he seems to have approaching that knowledge ever since he learned the nightmare man who had Molly trapped was his father.) Is it possible that Matt is actually a reasonably bright person, not a genius but by no means stupid? Maybe his problem has not been stupidity but self-sabotage based on self-image. If so might he start being the grounded, reasonably intelligent adult of Molly's two daddies? I would really like it if this program goes there - if only to undermine the stereotype that blue collar=stupid you so often see on the tube.

I might be remembering this wrong but doesn't Matt have some form of dyslexia? That could certainly contribute to his belief that he's not smart and lead to the self-sabatoge. Especially if it was previously undiagnosed, which it may or may not have been but I can't remember the details.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

I don't know that I want him to get all clever and capable, though. I like it that the mentalist is sort of a bumbling dimwit for a change. And since he's now the lovable moral center of the show, I worry what the evil=smarter equation would mean for his characterization.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Yes, Matt has dyslexia. It contributed to him not making detective in L.A., because he always had problems with the exam.

I do think Matt is a reasonably bright person, but I agree that I don't want him to suddenly be a genius. I like that he's just a guy, and sometimes he makes stupid decisions.

And next to Mohinder, he often looks like a freakin' savant.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

I do think that Molly is the smartest, but I just love Matt & Mohinder anyway.

I'm trying to figure out where the creators think Mohinder is on the smartness scale. Is he supposed to be book smart AND hopelessly credulous? That wouldn't be so bad if he didn't pull out genuinely smart moments like his tuning fork torture of Sylar.

To understand what happened at the diner, we shall use Mr. Papaya! This is upsetting because he's the friendliest of fruits.

I think he's meant to be book smart, but really out of his element. Remember, he's lived his whole life inside academia and research. All this superpower stuff was only theory to him, let alone brain-eating psychopaths and espionage.

That being said, I think he's learning, and frankly, I'm not entirely sure he did make the wrong play by confessing to Bob. I think I need to see that storyline play out before I make judgements.

GG is so adorable, he makes me wish I was more into Heroes fandom, just so I could flail (more).
