Heroes 1: We Could Be Heroes

[NAFDA]. This is where we talk about the show and ancillary materials such as web comics! Anything that's aired in the US (including promos) is fair game. No spoilers though -- if you post one by accident, an admin will delete it. Chuffa, Chuffa!

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

What if we don't allow discussion of the current week's comic until after the next episode has aired? It wouldn't work if the spoilers been more than a week ahead, but I'm not sure that's the case. Usually it seems like the current comic is background for the next ep. However I'm going by memory here, so I'm not totally sure of that.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

Makes sense to me.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

So discussion would be current comic in whitefont, comics dating from before the last aired episode in blackfont?

Just making sure I understand the suggestion.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

If -t has it right, that seems sensible.

To understand what happened at the diner, we shall use Mr. Papaya! This is upsetting because he's the friendliest of fruits.

Usually it seems like the current comic is background for the next ep. However I'm going by memory here, so I'm not totally sure of that.

Mostly. The only exception is that Hana was introduced waaaaay early in the comic.

I was originally thinking of no discussion of the current comic at all until the ep airs, mostly because I dislike white font. Thinking about it, though, I can see where people may misremember when the comic appeared. At least when we whitefont folks tend to be more cautious. What do people think?

What is even happening?

I know what you mean, but if history has shown that the comic has had spoilery material in the past, isn't it better to be safe than sorry? *sigh* I feel like I'm being a bitch here, but our spoiler definition came to be after much discussion. Regardless of whether the comics are meant to be a companion to the series, I think that we should stick with our original defintion of spoiler, unles we want to change that.

For what it's worth to the comics/blackfont discussion, here's the wording of Theo's proposal, which provided for discussion of the comic and other ancillaries:

Proposal: That we add a new thread to the TV and Film Discussion Folder specifically dedicated to Heroes.

The tentative title is We Could Be Heroes, with the description specifying that it is for discussion of the TV series and ancillary materials such as web comics.

The thread shall be designated as NAFDA.

Still, I don't want people to feel spoiled, or avoid the thread. And Vortex, you're not being a bitch. You're giving your opinion.

"I'm useless alone." // "We're all useless alone. It's a good thing you're not alone."

It's not an issue that will cause me to avoid the thread, FWIW.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Okay, I just caught up in the other thread ('cause I just now watched BSG & Dresden, which, okay, I know justifies the creation of this thread, leave me alone in my hypocrisy of anti-proliferation) and I have to comment about the speculation about the Hatian's psionic nullification powers.

It seems to my spotty memory that he has to physically touch the victim in order to draw the memories out, yes? So that wouldn't work so much for the "makes them forget how to use their powers" version of his power nullification, since that can be done livetime and with just proximity.

I definitely subscribe to victor's side effect of psionic ability theory.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Also, I just like to say psionic. psionic, psionic, psionic. The word loses all meaning.
