I hope Ando doesn't turn out to have any powers. He rocks more than sufficiently without them.
A friend of mine maintains that one characteristic of well-written superhero stories is that non-powered characters matter and have 'agency' in the plot.
By and large, this show passes that test with flying colors, so far.
Anyone who has an ep (or season) to catch up with - Sci-Fi is showing a Heroes marathon today. But, I'm not so sure about order... they're already at the Peter/Claire/Sylar showdown at the high school and that seems pretty far along for 9a E. Anyway... yay, show!
The order is completely weird, and they're skipping episode 8.
From the schedule on my tv it looks like it starts at 9EDT with Homecoming (#9) and goes in order through Landslide (#22), then shows the first one instead of the last.
What the heck is the 'mystery sock'? I was reading the write-ups of the MarsInvestigations.net staff visit to the set of Veronica Mars. One of the writers referenced the 'mystery sock' and said readers who didn't catch the reference haven't been watching Heroes.
I haven't missed an episode of Heroes, yet.
"Mystery sock" is I think the TWOP-ism for how Hiro pronounces "Mr. Isaac."
Thanks, Micole. That makes sense. So it isn't that I haven't been watching -- it's that I wasn't reading the TWoP recaps.
OK, so I haven't watched a lot of the earlier parts of the season since the weeks that they aired, and I was running around a lot today, so I called up my DVR'd episodes.
I'm watching "Hiros" and just realized the similarities between the first conversation between Hiro and Nathan and their later reunion in New York. "Flying man," of course, *whoosh* with the hand motion, Nathan's hushed nudging to be quiet at one point, Hiro repeating the initial louder proclamation only softer in response, all there. I love it. And yes, this is probably something everyone realized when their reunion initially aired, but I just love how everything comes together on this show.
