OK, so I haven't watched a lot of the earlier parts of the season since the weeks that they aired, and I was running around a lot today, so I called up my DVR'd episodes.
I'm watching "Hiros" and just realized the similarities between the first conversation between Hiro and Nathan and their later reunion in New York. "Flying man," of course, *whoosh* with the hand motion, Nathan's hushed nudging to be quiet at one point, Hiro repeating the initial louder proclamation only softer in response, all there. I love it. And yes, this is probably something everyone realized when their reunion initially aired, but I just love how everything comes together on this show.
Wow did Mohinder sound different in the pilot.
I didn't pick up on those details, Monique. Neat.
I was just discussing with Monique something I noticed during the marathon on SciFi. (Though why they're airing it in the order they are is still a mystery to me.) There's a moment when Isaac is in the diner with Hiro and Ando and he tells them about the man who explodes. Hiro responds, "How do you stop an exploding man?" Which had me all geeking out about the title of the finale.
Also, when Nathan comes face to face with Linderman in the kitchen, and Linderman's making his pot pies, he tells Nathan, "in two years, you'll be in the White House...a heartbeat away from the presidency." It made me wonder how exactly Nathan ended up as president. From that comment, it doesn't sound like he was directly elected.
Now I wish we could see a 2.5 Years Gone episode. I'm very curious about the exact series of events that led to his presidency.

Oh good. This is really the only place where I try to keep up with Heroes talk. For some reason, while I enjoyed the Buffy fandom, I'm terrified of getting involved with fandoms for my new shows because I'm afraid it'll just ruin the show for me. So I never know what others may have noticed ages ago that I'm just picking up on.
I will also say I don't miss Mohinder's ponderous narrative soliloquies.
Seriously. If he wants to monologue, he needs to go evil
watching the marathon and Don't Lood Back is on now. i just noticed that the helix is displayed when Mohinder is running his father's program to track the heroes and then they cut to Parkman at Molly's house and the hose in the pool is making the same shape.
wonder what that thing is supposed to mean.

It's a stylized S for "Sulu."
Sulu's comin....
Canon is that it translates to "Godsend".
It was also on 2 different canvasses in Isaac's apartment in the future.
For a second there I thought I had a handle on Nathan's road to the White House, but I kept thinking. Now I'm confused about when "now" is. Fall 2006 elections? That would allow him to serve his congressional term and then ride a wave of heroism in the wake of the explosion to Vice Presidency in 2008. If Sylar got to Candice and Nathan shortly after that he could easily take out the President.
And then I got distracted by that mention of the Linderman Act - I'm assuming that Niki/Jessica killed him in the other timelines as well (Hiro and Ando haven't interacted with Jessica and D.L., right?), so I'm thinking that post-explosion investigations revealed the late Mr. Linderman's string pulling in some way (though not that he rigged Petrelli's election) so that he came to signify the threat that the mutants (I don't know what to call them) pose to normal humanity.
