Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Pizza was quite nummy.

My plan was to get caught up on the "My marketing activities will dominate your face" dude over lunch, but there's just a ton of new posts. The fiasco is still going on. The guy is still posting and taunting, and adding new "products" to his website. WTF?

none of my US clients have DHL accounts

Well we are stiving to be the #3 domestic carrier. This is no lie! Isn't that just lame!! A couple of years ago we had a bunch of intercompany stuff that said "3 in 3" -- yeah 3 years to be #3 man, that stuff never gets old! (but it doesn't beat the horrendous CD that our parent company sent out a few years ago of a "specially commissioned" song about DHL.... when I played it at home my kids were on the floor laughing. This reaction? Not unlike the reaction in the office but with more swearing!)

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

It should be All Year Fridays. Four-day workweeks all around!

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

I forgot to take my BP meds yesterday morning, which explains why I was feeling flushed in the afternoon and why I got about 3 hours of sleep last night. Hence zombification today. Cross your fingers for me that i don't mutter "braaaaainsss" while on the phone with my boss today!

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

What's sad is that I was convinced our Summer Fridays mean we leave at 2, but a coworker said no, it's 1. I'm pretty sure I mostly left at 2, which is a pathetic version of the best of both worlds: still get to leave early, feel virtuous for staying later than necessary.

Jess they totally owe you those hours as either comp time or OT. I say leave early today to use some of those up

I HAVE NEVER HAD SUMMER FRIDAYS! UNFAIR!

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Wait, who is #3 now?

I actually love the DHL@home thing because I almost always live outside the regular range of most carriers and also the US postal system. Which means that I almost always have a PO box. So being able to ship normal things to the box is extremely helpful.

I also have horror stories from all the major carriers (I chalk it up to basic racism) so I have no horse in that race.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I don't even believe summer Fridays exist.

STILL no word on belt test. One email from the instructor who's supposed to be announcing it, but it was a mass email, unrelated. And one hangup call.

I actually wish I were at work, because then I'd have easy distraction.

Instead, let me go watch some more Life on Mars.

Ha! Fridays are especially rough, since my boss works from home most Fridays, and today her boss isn't in, either.
