Frak. I don't think I've ever gotten off work due to snow - the perils of always taking public transportation or else living within walking distance of work.
Wait, I take that back. When we in Minneapolis got our 30" of snow, I missed a few days of work because I was on crutches and literally could not leave our block, as I was unable to climb the piles of snow along the sidewalk due to plowing and had to wait for people to dig paths through them.

They never tell us the office is closed for the day, but they have very rarely sent everyone home early (last I remember was about 10 years ago). Today is manager's discretion as to when to send employees home. With all the people who now work from home or from the office on Peterson and Pulaski to cut down on their commute, we probably won't have too many cases of complete closing of the office anymore.

According to the treasury's In God We Trust FAQ, it's been in and out of use since 1864. Coins have had it permanently since 1938, bills since 1964-6.
Okay, we're making the call. Snow day! They're closing the local schools early, they're cancelling a game that's supposed to be played down on the reservation tonight, and our partner's wife says she's driving through a blizzard. From our window, the snow has totally picked up, and it's supposed to be snow and rain and ice until it's all snow overnight, both up here and down on the reservation, through tomorrow.
So we're calling it. Trying to get hold of our partner now.
I took a bath scented with rose salts and I've already stacked the wood, so we're going to tuck in tonight. The Biscuit came in all wet from the snow in the run, and got the house all wet running frantically back and forth trying to find me while I was in the tub. Hee.
And by "not that much snow" I guess I should clarify and say we'll probably end up with less than a foot.
No, that's fair. It's just after experiencing a couple of years with 36" accruals during big storms (and hearing about the 100+" in New York), a foot is reasonable given how little we've gotten so far this year.
