The screening thing should be interesting. Almost wish I could go to watch reactions. Cause that is fun.

Also? Allyson, everything will be ok. I know you are stressed, but it will. I know.

I've made a habit of buying a bag of uncut romaine hearts and eating salad at dinner every night. I *like* veggies. A lot. But they are work. And getting food in my craw is kind of a lot of work lately, so I go with the simplest delivery method possible.

Weird thing is, I like food. I like flavors. But being bothered to cook and eat is an issue, even as I melt down because I've not eaten in 18 hours on a saturday. Routine during the week gets me my morning coffee, then juice. Lunch is a ham and cheese sandwich. Dinner is often salad and chicken or whatever simple TJ's nummy thing I have on hand. Weekends, I really fuck up. I don't quite understand it.

OK, somehow I don't think watching NOVA's Life and Death in the War Zone on CASHs in Iraq after listening to an hour of Linda Vandervanter's recollections of vietnam as a surgical nurse (I *think* her experiences were the basis for China Beach) is going to cheer me up any. Stupid reruns.

Holy god, I can be way, way too ...something-pathetic. Sym- or em- or just -, I don't know. But I've been crying and yelling no and curses at the radio for TWO FREAKING HOURS. Why?

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Aw, poor -pathetic sara.

I swear, my cat forgot I was home. He usually sits with me at night, but just now I went looking for him, found him on my bed, and you could see him thinking "Oh shit! I knew there was something else I was supposed to be doing!"

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

I never used to miss a meal until last fall. Then for a while there I was lucky to eat twice a day—it just didn't interest me. No dramatic weight loss, alas. I've gotten better since Christmas or so, but I still forget breakfast now and then (like today). I figure three mugs of coffee with cream will keep body and soul together until lunch whether or not I remember to shove a breakfast bar in my maw.

Heh. Mine are all passed out. They freak out when I'm home on a weekday. They are up more than they are obviously used to, cause they sleep like the dead after a snow day. As in, rolling over and falling off the bed, asleep. Walnut brains. Cute, cuddly, therapy, but walnuts.

Hey, did I mention Mister Kitty tried to kill me to today? Well, not so much tried as accident. While I was listening to the radio, lying on the loveseat, and being something-pathetic, he was up on my chest and put his paws on my neck. He's 16 lbs. A lot was on the front paws, which were on my neck and I started to grey out. Kinda freaky.

Calli, my lack of regular eating hasn't result in loss, either. Honestly, I suspect my metab is screwy and only exercise would fix that. Because when I look at what I eat, it looks like a kinda tight diet. Which it isn't, deliberately.

Hell, I ate more when I swam and was losing weight. So something else it at play.

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

A Thursday-night meara:

Don't forget to use your good Australian crawl technique.

I wouldn't call my crawl technique good, by any stretch of the imagination. I could never get the breathing coordinated properly, and as for kicking, well, I'm lucky if my legs get within a foot of the surface. But, I did get in the 20 laps (10 crawl, 10 backstroke), as well as seven minutes of kicking while floating on my stomach (from the hip the entire time and always on the surface, even if it wasn't fast). My butt was hating me by the final 1 1/2 laps, though.

Now I'm missing the ortanique--an orange/tangerine hybrid that's structurally more like an orange, and produces some amazing juice.

My dad sent two dozen tangerine/grapefruit hybrids called Honey Bells that are really sweet and extremely juicy for Christmas. I hope he does it again this year!

I've found that a ruby red grapefruit long about 3:00 gives me a nice jolt for the rest of the day. So much so that I am a) down to 2 diet Cokes a day as opposed to 4 and b) down 7 lbs!

Yay, Aimee!!! That's so awesome!

Cutting back (but not eliminating entirely) my Diet Coke intake has helped with my sleeping, I'm sure.

It really is helpful having a regular fruit dropoff at this job. They don't even have a candy/snack machine in this place.

After the cafeteria closes at 3:30 (which is when I usually get my mid-afternoon cravings), we've got the vending machines or nothing. Blah.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

I just Britneyed my hair. I'm still not sure if I like the way it looks, but it is just so much fun to cut it, and I love the way it feels all fuzzy....
