Daniel, you'ere in Minnesota? For some reason, I thought you guys lived in Wisconsin. Are you close enough to Minneapolis to get together next time I'm there?
Andi and I live approximately 30 miles south of the Mall of America. Quit possible. We have weird schedules, tho.
Hey, I finally got back on the internet (and I won't stay on long, as it's about -10 F in my office right now, but...
School's canceled tomorrow!! Lalalalala!!
Ahem. Sorry, and not to run it in for the other teachers out there, but...hee. And I wasn't at ALL thinking that cancellation would be a possibility, and at 9:10 pm I get a jubilant phone call from our registar which pretty much went "Grace? No...no FUCKING way! Are you shitting me? Why...no, I don't care! Awesome; let's have a party!" and then I hung up, called the next person in our phone tree while doing Numfar's dance of Unexpected Snow Day.
Woo. I shall sleep in!
Enjoy your day off, Erin.
Me, I want a "It-is-so-cold-my-nipples-are-going-to-freeze-off Day". Geeesh. The bay area is not supposed to be this cold.
I want a "It-is-so-cold-my-nipples-are-going-to-freeze-off Day".
Wouldn't you really rather have a "Huston Street is bringing me cocktails in Oaxaca day"?
If that gives me a day off...I'm all for it. Huston Street is nice eye candy, but when I see him, I expect him to smell like the menthol rub he uses on game days.
Wouldn't we all? Although Suzi and I will being doing it with freakish nippleless breasts, cause it's frickin' cold here, too.
And I'm sure I have students who have relatives in Oaxaca (and thanks to my students, I know how to pronounce it now WAKS-AK-AH) and I can probably get a few free drinks. They respect teachers muchly. And would pity my poor cold nippleless guera boobies.
Sorry, and not to run it in for the other teachers out there,
Hey, if it's -10 there, you totally deserve it! I feel like a total wimp complaining about the 50-something temperature in my classroom. Okay, no I don't. It should not BE 50-something in the classroom.
Huh. I've got the A/C on, so my classroom is about 25 degrees right now.
...I'm guessing we're talking different scales? 'Cause otherwise, you're going to MELT! MELT, I say!
Meanwhile, I think Emily should work in international schools, where she will have smaller classes and be treated like a Queen. Yes. This is what I think. Possibly in Thailand.
...what? ijs!
FAY!
Are we, by some miracle, on the boards at the same time?!?
eta: P.S. Do not mock with the temperature. I have been freezing for days. Days, I tell you!

Mmm. A QUEEEEEN!
I'm guessing we're talking different scales?
Yes. Let's see, (50-32)*5/9 = 18*5/9 = 90/9 = 10 degrees, chez Fay. Whereas 25*9/5+32 = 225/5+32 = 45 + 32 = 77 -- wow, pretty balmy there, lady!
