Spike's Bitches 34: They're All Slime and Antlers

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

I know my own heart and understand my fellow man. But I am made unlike anyone I have ever met. I dare to say I am like no one in the whole world. - Anne Lister

That's the thing - if it weren't for the kids, I'd let them spiral out of control. They're idiots. But I had to tell them that I'm really scared that they are going to warp those babies. I actually told my brother that I'm terrified that in a couple of years my niece is going to open her mouth and speak with her mother's tongue. And he agreed with me that he doesn't want that. SO FIX IT, MORON! I'm just so frustrated. I'm sick of having to always step into these family situations. My parents are not equipped for these discussions and were not involved in the latest round because if they had been, it would have been the end of their relationship with my bro/SiL. That's just how serious it is.

Whoops, I've done killed the thread again.

I'm sorry your work is sucking, Aims. Maybe you should smite your cow-workers!

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

Thanks, guys. I'm getting really excited about this. I was just reading an article about how JNF is taking this opportunity to plant native trees and diversify the forests -- a lot of the trees that burned down were originally taken from saplings from the Black Forest, planted in the days before people really started thinking about whether doing stuff like that was really a good idea, and they use up a lot of water and crowd out a lot of the other tree. From the itinerary they sent us, it looks like we've got three days of working in the forests. Very excited.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

Fuck, GC! You should totally go get those babies.

The woman I am replacing WENT THROUGH my desk yesterday and pulled a bunch of shit that she deemed neccesary to pull and give it to Boss. Bills and payments, etc.

Sigh.

And now daycare just called. A little boy bit Em. Hrd enough to raise a bruise immediately, but not hard enough to break the skin. t bangs head on desk

I honestly have no idea anymore. I like the corporate culture cause I can hide under procedures and policies. But I don't like the politics and general shitiness of them. I like the autonomy and flexibility of a small company, but hate that I am so exposed when things go pear shaped.

I think I just need to get out of bookkeeping/accounting, but nothing else I can do will pay as much as this. Good thing I'm getting a Social Work degree so I can make the big bucks.

t continues banging

And WHY CAN'T I SPELL ANYMORE??

No, I don't think I will - me, quoting Captain Steve Rogers, to all of 2020

What would be your ideal work environment?

The bar, baby. The bar.

I'm sorry things are so frustrating for you at work, Aimee. Someone else going through your desk is definitely no good. I hope you can get out of there and into work that pays well and that you love soon.
