Spike's Bitches 34: They're All Slime and Antlers

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

Tep, where is your tag from? It's cracking me up.

Season 2, episode 7 of Titus. Love love LOVE that show.

Also we need to chat about Tucson, if you are still going though I know things are probably up in the air with S being ill.

Well, I think the plan is still that we are going, provided this fever breaks quickly and nothing else develops. But yes, let's keep in close contact on what the plan is between now and then.

Also, MM, if you're still around, is your current job semi-permanent? Do you know what the story is with that? We *might* need an extra backstage person for the next show at the colony, and Leesa would love to have you back.

If you're at all interested, tech weekend (which is a bitch, two roughly twelve hour days on a weekend, and you'd need to be there) is April 7th and 8th. Final rehearsals and previews would be the 9th through the 13th. Opening night is the 14th and there's one performance on the 15th. And then the show runs through May 13th, I think.

Let me know if you're at all interested.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

I want that on video!

Perhaps when I know more moves. And have a better costume. There are many factors.

(in the meantime I shall taunt you with description)

Now tagless for your comfort.

Also, in Things the Kids Said news, Sara informed me this morning that "ninjas steal pie." Good to know, I think

Sara's been watching Backyardigans. Owen ran around singing "Pie-ah, I make pies like a Samurai!" Those must be the pies the ninjas are stealing....

Where I (me me me) am concerned, I do better if I don't complain too much. We have control over our thoughts. I maybe can't control which thoughts occur to me, but I am the boss of whether I dwell on them or not. There's a line somewhere between thinking through/talking out problems, and wallowing in them, and that's the balance I'm always seeking, with mixed success. Like lisah, I have to recommit.

Cindy is, per usual, me.

Nora is non-eyerolly to me. I hope you can enjoy your visit, Nora!

I haven't been commenting but I've been reading the last two days and I wanted to try to catch up.

Hec, sorry about the asstastic little league schedule. I know how enthusiatic you are about your involvement with Emmett's league and it just sucks that they screwed you guys over so badly with the scheduling. I hope it's not too rough on your family.

Teppy, sorry about the asstastic committee president dicksmack who's stepping all over your lovely volunteer toes. I also adore The Boy.

Raq, good luck with the house-hunting. The very thought of that process gives me hives. As a double-dog owner (neither of whom is mean, but they certainly bark), I'd be sending them both to the kennel during the day if I were trying to show my house. It's just easier on everyone involved and better for the dogs.

Love love LOVE that show.

Me too. I was very bummed when it was taken off the air. I thought Stacey Keech was perfect as his dad.

No, I don't think I will - me, quoting Captain Steve Rogers, to all of 2020

Sean: I'll have to see. I'll keep you posted.

Oh, I am sure I will! My sister was telling me that she told the 4-year-old we were coming, and he just got a big ass smile on his face. I suspect most of that is because of his buddy with the funny voice, Uncle Tom, but I think he's OK with me as well.

They are a LOT of fun right now.

However, now S has the fever.

Ooof. I was afraid of that. Poor S.

Poor Em.

Love love LOVE that show.

DH was big with the Titus love.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

But yes, let's keep in close contact on what the plan is between now and then.

Mainly I wanted to say that I couldn't get the minivan through my contact at Enterprise. I think we're just gonna get a compact thingie from Budget down the street and go that way. Plus, cheaper on gas. Where are you guys staying?

Honey? Where is the battery charger? I wanted to list some eBay stuff but the camera is dead. He'p me! He'p me! I thuck!

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

I don't consider that to be "complaining," at least not in a whiny, refuses-to-take-good-advice way.

It is complaining! That's what happens when you voice your complaints.

So, in your opinion, is there *any* way to express a negative feeling without it being "complaining"? Is there any category for talking about legitimate worries/stresses/concerns? Or is it all just "complaining"?

"Oh, stop complaining about your Dad's heart disease, you big whiner! Turn that frown upside down and don't *dwell* on it! Come on, get HAPPY!!!"

Because I don't see things that way. I just don't.
