Spike's Bitches 34: They're All Slime and Antlers
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
It is too cold, and neither fatigue nor pain are a boon to a person's outlook. You're ground down, Nora. I wish I could help you.
I don't know the particulars of radical acceptance, but I think I get the overall concept in a vague way (like, I understand both words and when I put them together, I still sort of understand them). The term always makes me think of the Serenity Prayer (A.A. tool, not a Firefly reference) -- accept the things I can't change, change the things I can, have the wisdom to know the difference.
It seems to me that by choosing not to complain, you're taking a huge step.
Oh, erika! You just made me laugh out loud.
Vintage Eddie Murphy, right? From
Delirious,
maybe? My college roomie and I used to say that all the time (and coincidentally, or not so, both of our fathers were/are alcoholics).
I can't stop complaining. It's my idiom.
Also, in Things the Kids Said news, Sara informed me this morning that "ninjas steal pie." Good to know, I think.
Funniest part was that she pronounced it "ninjers".
I complain too much, but at least KO's back. And since I'm in Bitches, I guess I could say "in the saddle", too.(although I only had that thought once, I swear.)
He himself would hate that I say this, but fuckin' baseball, man.ETA: Yeah, that's Delirious, still one of my picks for Funniest Shit Ever, but that's the one I know best, because we love ice cream around here, and times are hard.
Ugh. Head. Poundage. Must. Find. Drugs.
Funniest part was that she pronounced it "ninjers".
Excellent. Clearly you should move her close to Boston. I mean, she needs to be amongst her people. Don't deny
me her. You don't know what kind of damage it could do.
He himself would hate that I say this, but fuckin' baseball, man.
I'm going to check in on your feelings on baseball at the time of the All-Star break, and see the extent of KO's thrall on you.
It seems to me that by choosing not to complain, you're taking a huge step
Well, I'm trying not to complain here because I'm afraid that I make people eye-rolly as it is, and I'm trying not to complain to Tom because I'm afraid that I'm taking him down with me, so it's all locked up in my brain. So I'm not sure how healthy a step it is, but I'm going to go with your thought and look at it as such and then maybe things will fall into place a little better for the time being.
I don't think you make anyone eyerolly, Nora, but I also don't think it's necessarily healthy to keep everything bottled up. Can you rant in LJ and mark the posts private? I usually find that if I write things down, even if no one reads them but me, it's cathartic.
I mean, she needs to be amongst her people.
Heh. Even funnier because Stephen and I are in the middle of watching The Departed (in the middle because halfway through the DVD wnt kerflooey and we're getting a new one from NetFlix), and loving Matt Damon's Boston accent.
Wow, that would be serious thrall. Could happen though...it would be like Sports Night Pygmalion fic.
Well, I was just glad they sent Stepford Anchor back to the bush leagues(He's already affected my metaphors, huh?)ETA: Yum...love when Matt gets all Boston. Very foamy. But I'm a horrible person cause the bug was looking for headache relief, but I read "drugs" and , thanks to my avocation, was all "I dunno...Roxbury?" I'm gonna end up in Special Hell, maybe.
Oh, poor sj! I mostly slept through the night (checked the clock a few times, but rolled over and went back to sleep). Sorry I wasn't around, sweetie.
It's not that big of a deal. I got up played around on the internet, watched TV, and took some advil. When I went back to bed it was TCG's time to get up, so I had the bed to myself and slept until just a few minutes ago.
The other day, I was complaining about the excessive cold snap and my daughter, in her most exasperated tone said, "Mommy, it's March. In like a lion? Out like a lamb."
Aww, too cute! It is too cold here though. When I woke up earlier it said it was 1, and now it is saying it is 5. 5 is not an acceptable tempertature, even for March, imho.
{{{Nora}}} I don't think you're making anyone eyerolly, especially me. This weather can easily increase both depression and aches (which only increases depression). If you don't want to complain here, my profile address is always available.
