Spike's Bitches 34: They're All Slime and Antlers

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

Well, for having to call in to work, I've been remarkably productive. I put in a cable splitter so I now get teevee reception (sssssh!) as well as cable modem, and I installed my new jewelry holders. I couldn't find necklace displays that I liked, so I bought a couple ornamental plant hangers and put those in.

Still sick, though. Sinuses and non-productive coughing. I want to go for a run, but worry about the coughing bit.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Not BF. I swear.

I mean, if I had a boyfriend everyone would know due to the immediate end of global warning and certain regimes. Not to mention cheap and efficient alternatives to fossil fuels suddenly having existing infrastructures.

Fuck a star in the east. That's for beginners. I'll show you the impossible made real.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

Nora, is your grandmother still in the hospital?

She is.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I've still never tasted it, so I think the next batch they get in, I'ma buy me a wee bit and try it.

Blue Mountain Coffee is to Regular Coffee as Gelato is to Ice Cream.

Matilda is being a total boo this afternoon. (That's a good thing. Uh, I don't know why she's a boo exactly, but she just is. She's cooing and saying, "Goo!" with looks of intense concentration and smiling and gurgling and generally being super adorable.)

Also, we all walked through the park to her daycare to be and met her caregiver (Maggie) and the other baby there (Samantha). Samantha is 7 months old, already standing and cruising, built like a milk fed baby tank, red haired, blue eyed, huge cheeked and very cheerful and social. Matilda got intently interested in Other Baby and they both seemed very excited at the prospect of future socializing and cocktails and whatnot.

Then we trooped down to Haight Street and all got burritos and now we are back home, huddled around the heater and enjoying the warmth. There was ice (ice!) along the muddy grass in the shady areas of Golden Gate Park!

Did I mention my burrito was carnitas? Ohhhhhhhhh. It is the most genius meat food ever.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Oh, so speaking of Haight Street and Golden Gate Park, I'm going to run the marathon.

I'm going to run the marathon.

I didn't even know you were a runner. You should race Juliana around the park.

I'm not a runner. But if I raise money for the AIDS Foundation, they'll turn me into one.

Speaking vaguely of carnitas, a Filipino krav student told me to make sure I make it in on Thursday, since he's bringing roast pork. "Pork!" I exclaimed with gladness. "For meat that's not goat, it's pretty tasty!"

Now he's bringing goat as well, and perhaps turtle.

My Aunt Edna (she of the turtle mull) would be proud.
