Spike's Bitches 34: They're All Slime and Antlers

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

I couldn't find ANY just below-the-waist jeans... I could only find them in regular pants, which were actually OK, except for the paucity of available styles and the one pair of pants in my size was like 4 inches too long (and I am a relatively tall woman).

They're all designed for wearing with heels. It's the failure of most jeans/trousers right now. The trick, I've been told, if you're short (I am) is to get the ankle length. The "short" inseam is something like 30" or 31". I shudder to think what long is.

I'll be 33 this year. Mostly, I buy plain old boot cut jeans, with a just below the waist rise, to avoid the Mom Jeans look on me.

What is even happening?

Nora, I like pants on my waist, too.

Kristin, I hope you find the energy and endurance to get through this avalanche of work.

Thanks for all the birthday wishes, Bitches. We had a very nice day, and I am too too full. I got too full on appetizers, then more too full on dinner, and then while still full we came home, and I got way obscenely too full on chocolate cake with chocolate frosting, made by Scott and Christopher. It's Scott's first time baking anything more complex than already-prepared cookie dough. It was awesome, and only one egg was sacrificed (by Chris) during the actual baking process.

I got lots of lovely books, from Scott and the kids and from my mom, as well. They include 6 volumes of The Dresden Files, (from Scott and the kids) but I can't remember the others (and they are upstairs, while I am down) and jammies, and chocolate and beautiful cards -- some from the store, some homemade. And Julia made me a pin (of course, it's just a piece of paper, so we have to figure out how to wear it as a pin).

Best of all though, the other day, I was whinging about being bored. Amy suggested I make a LiveJournal post of music that makes me happy, so I did. Scott found it, and made me two mix CDs of those songs, and others. I have to listen to them, now. What a great, sneaky gift.

It was a good day.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, CINDY!!!!! I have posted presents for you on my flickr!!!

My twins! Oh sheeesh I want to bite their cheeks. Thanks so much, lisah.

Our wings are not tired.

Yay for such a nice birthday. You really deserved a good day.

Hates low rise jeans. I found shorts that fit yesterday at Target.

Happy birthday, Cindy!

I love the low-er rise fit because they do not interfere with the navel piercing.

What is even happening?

Thank you, Laura and Sparky.

Bitches, how do you all keep your asses from peeking out of the low rise when you're seated?

Kristin, I hope you find the energy and endurance to get through this avalanche of work.

Thanks, Cindy. I am fueled by caffeine and grim determination.

Bitches, how do you all keep your asses from peeking out of the low rise when you're seated?

By having next to no waist.

Bitches, how do you all keep your asses from peeking out of the low rise when you're seated?

Wear a long shirt, these days...in the past, avoid the ultra-low-rise as much as possible.

Happy Birthday, Cindy! It sounds like you're having a good one, so yay!

I met a guy for coffee today. Probably not an earth shattering event for most folks, but I haven't even done that much with an available fella in over eight years, so I'm calling it good. I don't think he's that into me, but we had fun talking about fannish stuff. Decent coffee, too.

Always Anti-fascist!

Am a bit discouraged with my goomare-board at the moment. Because somebody on it suggested that Keith would be better on the news than that"boring Brian Wilson" Sigh. And now I feel fucked-up because I'd like to see Brian Wilson meander his way through the stories of the week, and etc. It wouldn't make sense, but it wouldn't be boring. I know they meant Brian Williams.
