It's good to have cargo. Makes us a target for every other scavenger out there, though, but sometimes that's fun too.

Spike's Bitches 34: They're All Slime and Antlers

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

Did you enjoy the show last night? Was it a good date? Was Drew the perfect gentlemen, or should I knock him around a little?

I did enjoy the show! I want to be in and play Betty Jean.

It was a great date.

Drew was the perfect gentleman. Dammit. I was hoping for inappropraite groping. Instead, I got the aisle seat and Vernor's.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

What are everyone's plans for the weekend? We're going over Mom's for dinner tonight, because she and my stepdad have been away all week. Tomorrow we have to clear out of the apartment for a while so that it can be shown, so we're going to do some errands and then the landlord is supposed to come over and fix the hole in the closet. Keeping my fingers crossed that if fixes the smoke problem.

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

Daisy, would it not be possible for dh to take a cab from the airport? I know it's pricey, but I am with you on the flying.

I'll mention that to him. Right now, I'm hoping his mother can convince him. He's stubborn, but also a mama's boy (I mean that in a good way since if she were my mama, I'd be the same. Think Tami Taylor, but with grey hair).

Is the uncle who tried to kill himself the father of this cousin?

Yep. There has got to be a better understanding and conversation about depression and mental illness. I mean we don't act all freaky and clam up about cancer or whatever, but dude, give us something mental and we...I don't know. I'm one of those people who doesn't quite get it myself, even though it's killed people I love directly (though suicide) or indirectly (self destructive stuff). I know both my sister and my step-dad struggle with it. And though sister knew her dad suffered from depression, she didn't talk about her own until very recently.

And on a much lighter note

If it makes you feel any better, I just flipped off a guy on the phone.
And I did NOT mean to give him a thumbs up.

HA!

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

My plans, such as they were, are all preempted by my lack of sleep. I've decided that getting nothing done and napping are okay today. Tomorrow, I may drive a very long way just to buy a CD tower.

{{}} and ~ma to all who need them. DJ, so sorry about your husband's cousin. It's terrible.

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

Oh, oh.

{{{{Cindy}}}} Happiest of early birthdays to you, love.

{{{{DJ & Mr. DJ}}}} I'm so sorry. Much strength to you & Mr. DJ's family. The North Beach Spa is eagerly awaiting your arrival so that you may de-stress and so that I may give you many hugs in person.

Has anyone else ever had a disconnect with turning a certain age?

Given that I can never remember what age I am (unless it's divisible by 5), not really. However, 28 was a bitch. I remember that.

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

What are everyone's plans for the weekend?

Need to be getting dressed to go to a crawfish boil for the boy we had the birthday drink with last night. I was told to be ready by 2. Sure. That'll happen.

Tomorrow? Maybe Irish festival with L. Maybe bar for drinks with my football wife.

Me too! I'm forever saying I'm 30, and then I remember that was last year. I can't even remember what I did (so there was probably drinking involved). Oh wait! There was a Saint's game! They won for me!

Looking forward to spa and hugs!

I can have one more smoke before getting into the shower. Right, Cindy?

"I've got a gun! I've got a mother-flippin' gun!" - Moss, The IT Crowd

After a quick threadsuck, all I have to say is -

I was hoping for inappropraite groping. Instead, I got the aisle seat and Vernor's.

This should be an Aimée tag, a t-shirt or her mantra...

ION, yeesh, my timing. The dessert place that we've been longing to go to... we went by it a few times before it opened (they didn't list an exact opening date on the website, though they did post an entire menu - bastards), then Christmas hit, then my deadlines. Finally, we have time to go and find the place not only closed but that the owner & head chef had stormed out and quit only 3 days previously.

Yeah. My timing to a tee.

Jilli linked to the news story of the big flouncing in post 8668.

move out and draw fire

{{{DJ & your Mr.}}}

I had total disconnect with 15, but that's probably normal. I missed 27-30. I think there was some good sex in there, and photos indicate I had a great body, but I was a few methods short of an object.

Off to drive down to the Temple of Poseidon at Sounio and watch the lunar eclipse! Wish me no car wrecks driving on country roads in the dark.

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

DJ, I am so sorry.

Has anyone else ever had a disconnect with turning a certain age?

Yes. This last one (38). I've been having a lot of "what the hell have I done with my life?" thoughts since then.
