DJ, so sorry about Mr. Jane's cousin. I hope the aftermath is as least horrible as possible.
Has anyone else ever had a disconnect with turning a certain age?
oddly, I still haven't gotten used to 41. 40 was fine, or maybe more than fine, because I seem to be stuck there.
I have finished the roll and sent Tom to drop it off for quick development, 1 hour or 2 hour or some such.
Don't worry, Cindy, we'll fete you again tomorrow.
ION, the next essay I have to hand in is an essay I need to come up with a question for and then answer. It is supposed to incorporate at least one of the following:
1. the effects of gender in the college classroom
2. the effects of gender in the college curriculum
3. the effects of policy (whether national or institutional) on women's experiences on college campuses
I'm having a hard time getting going on this, I'm hoping typing it out will get the brain juice flowing, but any suggestions are more than welcome. If anyone's in a gender analysis mood.
Sorry I started the premature birthday congrats, Cindy! I will also send you happys in the actual day tomorrow! In the meanntime, enjoy your pre-birthday.

Gronk. We went to bed really late (I didn't finish grading until midnight and needed a couple of hours to unwind), and then Drew woke up at 3AM in a horrible coughing fit. He thinks he inhaled something in his sleep, because it was one of those awful, uncontrollable, burning coughing fits that goes on forever. We were both up for 30 minutes while he coughed, tried to recover, and tried to fall back to sleep. Needless to say, I am far from rested this morning.
Now I need to start grading, and I'm already sick of it. Sigh. I think I may need to venture out to a coffee shop in order to encourage my productivity. I friggin' hate being on this tight of a grading schedule.

Ah, who am I kidding--I'm not going to stop whining until it's over Tuesday morning. I am not channeling my attitude as successfully or healthily as the Empress, I fear.

If it makes you feel any better, I just flipped off a guy on the phone.
And I did NOT mean to give him a thumbs up.

You should talk to SA. Her brain's still filled to the brim with feminist studies.
Poor Kristin and the grading load. It never ends! Or rather, It Ends On Tuesday.

Okay, that made me laugh.
Did you enjoy the show last night? Was it a good date? Was Drew the perfect gentlemen, or should I knock him around a little?

Indeed it does. And then I'll have a bit of a reprieve as I start teaching the new poetry unit. Yay! I love teaching poetry.
