I've slept the last couple nights so you can take tonight Cindy. I don't have anything critical on the list tomorrow.
Opening stuff done at the baseball park so I have a 40 minute window to run home and toss in a load of laundry and read posts before heading out to the first game of the season. Go Indians!
I slept like a ROCK, because I can't take ibuprofen due to the upcoming surgery and the only other cramp releiver we had was Tylenol PM. I'm going to be groggy all day. Benedryl, you wily mistress, you make us both sleepy and jittery, damn you and your pain-relieving ways.
Thanks, Laura. Tomorrow is my 40th birthday, so I'd like to be bright eyed and bushy tailed.
Robin, I had to stop taking Benadryl when I was sick (I was only taking it at bedtime) because it left me terribly shaky the next morning. It was awful.
What day is your surgery?
Surgery is Tuesday. I am just hoping to get everything finished up here at work before I leave. I am at the office right now, but am cruising the interwebs instead of attending to paperwork.
Happy Birthday Eve!
This morning, I was wondering if you were a vegan, or a vegetarian, Hil. I'd always thought you were a vegetarian, until recently. Now I know.
Hee! Vegetarian, but trying to cut down on the amount of eggs and dairy I eat, so buying a lot of vegan cookbooks lately. (A whole lot of vegetarian cookbooks make everything with a ton a cheese. There are some good ones, but cheese is the dairy thing that I'm really trying to cut down on, so vegan cookbooks are useful right now.)
Also, a bit of grease splattered and landed on my foot while I was cooking, and now it's blistering. Bleh. I hate having sensitive skin.
I have an AWESOME and glamorous new haicut! Hec, you'd love this guy I went to, he reminded me of you, but he is in special hell, for his girlfriend wants to grow her hair out! Noooooooo! He was lamenting missing looking at her neck.
I told him that I was in his hands, I didn't care how short it was. The only caveats that I gave were: the stupid middle part, it can't be fought; and he asked if I liked having hair to tuck behind my ears and I said yes. So he cut a lot a lot a lot of hair off, got the shape of it, blew-dried it, and then said, "OK, now it's time to make this fabulous." He did all sorts of weird texturizing cuts with the scissors and it IS pretty fabulous.
He was also pleased I had a round back of the head. It's cut very close in the back, with some cool texturizing movement and then it's angled (but also is round framing the face) toward the front. The contrast of length between the front and back is striking.
I will endeavor to figure out how to post pictures without owning a digital camera.

Yesterday continued its crappiness for a while; I ended up slipping on ice while disembarking from the bus when we got to the restaurant. I was fine, if a bit wet and muddy, and snuffled a little bit in front of a co-worker in the ladies room. I was a little low for the start of the lunch, but I relaxed eventually and was able to have (gasp) fun! And then I was able to catch the 3:15 train (my usual trains are 5:37 or 5:55) so I was home super early. Tom suggested that we meet at the Beerworks after his dr.'s appointment, so I headed over there from the train and had a few lovely pints of Imperial IPA, got some school reading done, and then went home and snuggled with Tom on the couch listening to music and occasionally getting up to bust out some of my bellydancing moves.
Hoping today will continue being OK!
{{Sean and S}}. I'm sorry, and I hope that she'll be home with you soon, and that this procedure works out. Take care of you this weekend.
Ouch, grease burns do hurt.
I won't quite say yay for surgery, but I do look forward to seeing you get some relief Robin. The women I know that have gone down this road all were so much happier after it was over. Stupid girly parts. Like thorny roses.
Off to baseball again. Bobby and I have been on our own while B&B have been at the state basketball finals since Thursday. The team we are cheering for is doing well and it is like a reunion for DH since many of the coaches and dads are men that he played with in HS and college. It's a geezerjock reunion.
waves hi and bye to Nora on my way out...
Oh Nora, I am so glad you are having an OK time! Much better than the alternative.
I'm at BeemerLand today and am resolving to have a better attitude to anyone I come in contact with. Why give up my power to self-entitled jerks who feel that in order to fulfill their sad, empty lives they have to own $150k cars and be rude to the girl on the phone/behind the counter? Why should I let them alter my day and mood? Strangers should not have that power over me and I shall not give it to them!
I can not control their behavior, but I can control my reaction to them. And today, I shall.
YAY THERAPY!
