It's been so long since Emmett merited a punishment I had to remind myself how it's done and upgrade it for his age. And like his toddler years, the
idea
that he was getting punished was so much that it was almost incidental. He was "Yeah yeah yeah" as I ticked off the privileges lost, just wanting it to be over.
When I was done I went back into his room and said, "You know, I'm upset with what you did, but I always love you."
And he said, "You've told me that a hundred times for all the hundred mistakes I've made."
Which was actually nice, because he does know that.
(And he's made way more than 100 mistakes, but they were all bunched between 2 and 4.)
Most of the punishment stuff has to do with school. Why won't they just do the damn work!?! Now that Brendon has his driver's permit that means one more thing to take away. Whee! That's the big thing these days. Take the phone. Take the computer. Soon, take the keys. They're not bad kids. Just not motivated to do school work.
Really, going to fall asleep at the keyboard...

I'm especially glad that you're not letting other people take you for granted and abuse you. I can't recall what it was you said during the course of the last few days, but I was reading along and there you were, and I was all proud to know you and grinning at you for being who you are.

I figured out how to become a small press publisher, and thought I should send out a call for erotic short stories and poetry based on fairy tales and get it published, do it once a year, put them up on amazon, yadda yadda. It would be a big outlay at first, but it would be cool. Of course, it would be cheap if I did it as an e-book. Heck, I could actually start the next "ellora's cave", only with better book covers. It's weird to me, that I absolutely know how to do this and make it work. Scary a little too since it would mean a lot of work and some (but not a huge amount of) money I don't have right now."

I am earning my Geek Card, because I am At The Beach and it is sunny and the water is turquoise and I am on an exotic island in the tropics...and I am on the interpipe. (discovering that all the things you have to use the shift key for like punctuation and so on ARE NOT WHERE THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO BE on this keyboard. Nor does the picture on the key itself reflect what will happen if you press the key. My punctuation is happening by trial and error.)

I have not had a hair cut since August. My hair is now quite a bit longer than my chin, but not shoulder length. Thoughts on hair cuts, people! (I canät find the question mark. Or the apostrophe. Fuck. And the brackets are in crazy fucking places.)
