Now tagless for your comfort.

It figures. The assheads sent it out before he could quietly inform people he wanted to tell personally?

oh joy! Oh Rapture ! I have a brain!

Actually, the harder part has been keeping it underwraps. I needed something from his HR for my new job , and I was talking to L, who is a friend , not just a co-worker. It was very obvious she had no idea Matt was leaving. It was odd. His team knew, and a few others that he works closely with. He is very well-liked and so many of them had to stop by.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

Today's paper included a list of cocktails at local bars:

Bloody Brain

Get in touch with your inner zombie .... Bar manager crafts his version of the visually striking Bloody Brain. He layers peach schnapps, Baileys Irish Cream and a drizzle of grenadine in a shot glass. The grenadine somehow pulls the Baileys down, giving the illusion of a pinkish brain-like mass floating at the bottom of the glass.

1 oz. peach schnapps
1/2 oz. Baileys Irish Cream
Splash of grenadine
Pour each of the ingredients in order in a shot glass.

Heh. Sounds tasty.

Interesting news about Matt's CEO. Sounds like leaving was even more right than he knew. I hope is last day is not too tough on him with the emotional appeals.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

I got my new hiking boots! It's a good thing I followed the website's advice and ordered big -- I'm usually a 5 or 5.5, maybe a 6 in sneakers. I ordered a 6 and a 6.5, and it's the 6.5 that fits. They're lightweight and comfortable and seem relatively water-resistant, and I wore them all day today with no blisters!

It's amazing how much less painful and tiring walking is with better ankle support. The first thing I noticed while walking in them was that I didn't have to twist my hip at each step to compensate for my ankle turning in -- I barely notice that I do it when I'm walking in regular shoes, but I definitely noticed that I was swinging my legs straight when I was wearing these. It was a very weird feeling. Cool, though. Too bad I can't get ankle support like that in a lighter-weight sneaker.

Yay hiking boots! Very cool. High top sneakers don't help?

Just had a 4.2 earthquake, centered maybe 20 miles from me. Biggest one DH has been through. Very rolly.

K-Bug and I were in the craft store and she tried to argue with me and say it wasn't an earthquake. Getting home and seeing them talk about it on the news - vindication!!!

I don't know. Last time I wore high top sneakers was sometime around 1989. Do they even make them anymore?

Yikes, earthquake! Stay safe!

Hm, maybe they don't. The one's I was thinking of I bought in th elate 80s. Reeboks, fwtw.

It was not too big an earthquake, I doubt there will be aftershocks to worry about.

Eta: too funny that K-Bug denied it was a quake. DH has only been through the ones that feel like a big truck going by. His reaction was "What the hell was that?"

Converse makes high tops, but no arch support.
