'The Message'

Spike's Bitches 34: They're All Slime and Antlers

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

I do believe in killing the messenger, you know why? Because it sends a message. ~ Damon Salvatore

dammit! what is it about sundays?

i've got another freakin' semi-flat tire. i just bought two new tires in october because the hole that was in one of them was unfixable and it was silly to buy one new tire.

this at least is just a nail and appears to be easily fixable. just a royal pain in my ass because i'll have to get it done before work in the morning.

I hate sundays.

Embrace the idea that we are the leaders we've been looking for. Grace Lee Boggs

While we're whining, I have tomorrow off and I still have to be at a meeting at 9 am. In what kind of world is that an ok thing?!

Ok, I know I should be happy because I have the day off, but if I have the day off, I want to sleep in more!

eta: Not that others are whining. You all have legitimate issues, and I realize that this really isn't.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Prednisone is a nasty, nasty drug, but it does the job for some things.

The doctor has had my mom on a low dose of Prednisone for over a year, to keep her lupus vasculitis symptoms under control. I've been wondering if that's good, but apparently there's no other reasonable option.

Why don't I have tomorrow off?

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

Between the lupus and the allergies, my immune system is just plain paranoid. It's like one of those annoying tiny dogs that bark at leaves and bits of string.

I'm sorry as hell about the lupus and the allergies, but I am madly in love with this simile.

Kristin! My friend L. and I were just talking about you a couple of hours ago. She and her husband M. saw you and Drew over New Year's, and she said, "They look so happy together. Just so happy. And Drew looks much better than he used to. Handsomer, or less sloppy. I'm not sure. But so much better than before Kristin."

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

While we're whining, I have tomorrow off and I still have to be at a meeting at 9 am. In what kind of world is that an ok thing?!

It is NOT an ok thing. I'll tell you what people kindly tell me when I make the same complaint: It doesn't count as a day off if you have to get up and go in at 9am. It happens at least once a month in my world, and sometimes three times. I'm looking forward to having to do that on Wednesday.

Yay for remissions and asymptom-alities.

Not-so-yay for d's knife-able landlord, and tiggy's sad-sack tire.

Nasty, rotten, ill-behaved Sunday.

Just out of curiosity, does anyone else find spaces randomly inserted into text they are typing when they are pretty sure they haven't hit the space bar, or is that just me?

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

what's the past tense of text message? texted?

I would say it's "sent a text message," since neither "text" nor "message" is a verb, but I get weird about verbing nouns that everyone else verbed years ago.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Texted in a casual use. Sent a text message in a more formal setting. Not exactly sure where business casual falls in this spectrum though.
