man I wish I was coordinated enough or had the patience to do something like that to my hair every so often. My two styles are down (and, if I take the time to dry it, blown out super straight) and up in ponytail. Both are cute but I think I could rock a 40s style do.
I do not like the herringbone braid. It freaks me out for some reason. Like it belongs in the domain of the hippy ladies with the freakishly long hair.

It didn't. She hasn't gone to cosmetology school yet, but on the Vintage Hair board she seemed willing and available to do other people's hair.

Hec, I need more shots of inverted bobs (I think that's what I mean -- longer in the front). I think I'd like a fairly steep angle. It seems to flatter. I have bangs, and no patience to grow them out. My hair is very wavy (almost curly), but blows out nicely, too.
