The program is really geared for full-time, on-campus students. Also also, it is annoying to see these young fresh faced first year grad students who make me feel old.
Totally feeling you on that one. I had an appt. with my advisor today and he actually asked me why I was in the program. "You have the job, what are you doing here?" Um, a little thing called learning? Also to get the paper, foolio!
But mental health is a tenacious motherfucker, and it won't let me go back to that way of thinking, and so I *refuse* to go into every situation with [Group President] expecting to get bitchslapped.
Go Steph! I had a moment recently in which my boss said, "A is really introverted so when you talk to her, you should xxx." In the past, I would have said, "Okay, I'll do xxx." Instead I said, "You know, I don't think I have a communication issue, do you?" "No." "Well, I think it's time for other people to adjust their styles rather than me having to always be accommodating." To which she replied, "Fair enough." I was pretty pleased with myself.
Oh! Hec! I'm chopping all my hair off this weekend!
It's the thing to do. After cutting mine too short last time, I cut it shorter a few days ago. I never learn.

Where are the pictures?
I've been seriously considering doing something drastic with my hair. I absolutely hate it right now.
Hee, Cass!
Although, I can't find my girl's card. I kind of need that to make an appointment.
Edit: It was Laura. Or Nicole. Or something.
I'm getting mine cut on Friday. I'm keeping the angled bob but considering growing it to about shoulder length. I can't decide.
I don't think I have any pics of my new cut, but Hec has seen and ruffled it.
Mine is in need of a trim. I love it nice and short.
Where are the pictures?
There aren't any, actually. I should fix that.
But it's all angled and people seemed to like it. I take that as a positive.
In other "Dude.
You did not
just say that" news in my workplace. I sent out an invite to a work event, got a reply back from someone saying "We'll make the 10 o'clock news and as the only white people, we'll stick out like sore thumbs."
First of all dude? You have some fucked up views on race and class. Second, don't you dare wink and nod at me like I share them. I will rip you a new one.
Right after I forward this email to my boss.
