I'm all up in the law now, but damn it feels good to get my violence on.

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

Who was that wee blonde who breezed through Not!Here?

Demerol! That's the one that doesn't play nice with my brain.

I think my exact words to the nurse who gave me demerol was, "Demerol is my new best friend." It was so lovely.

Morphine made me EXTEMELY paranoid. Like whoa paranoid. Not. Fun.

Aren't bodies just so weird...

Yes. And, if I remember correctly, can be a lot of fun, too, but that's been a while and I could be wrong.

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

I believe that Demorol was the only pain med they gave me when I had K-Bug. I remember feeling the pain, but not caring about it. As in "Wow, another contraction. Gosh, that really hurts" all said in a level voice.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Yeah, my first reaction when they asked me if I still hurt post-Demerol injection was, "Yeah. But I don't really care somehow." The paranoia came later. Didn't take long though. Well, I don't think so. Time stopped being exactly linear.

Pain management is tricksy.

Cass, that probably explains my roommate's reaction in the hospital. Demerol is all the Navy hospital gives and she was talking about how much it messed her up. I had forgotten about that and was young enough at the time that I didn't realize how differently some folks can react to the same meds.

Morphine makes me itch.

brillig

Injected Demerol gives my husband hallucinations and convulsions. That was fun to watch. He's a fan of Percoset.

What is even happening?

When I was in labor with Ben, they gave me a shot of something, before I ended up taking the epidural. I want to say it was something like Fenergan? I don't think I got nubain, but I can't remember. It took the edge off, but it seems to me that it more made me not care about the pain than not feel it.

The house is all but de-Christmassed. Dh is vacuuming. I found one ornament after all the others were packed away, in the attic. It was cute, but had no sentimental value, so tossed it out.

Dh just found a piece of our nativity set (the manger and all the figurines are unpainted wood. Mary, the baby Jesus, and the Kings are pretty obvious. It's harder to tell if this was a shepherd or Joseph). Fortunately, that box wasn't away, yet.

I'm waiting to find a gajillion forgotten items, tomorrow. If any forgotten items are not sentimental, and provided I can do so without being caught and guilt-tripped, they'll go in the trash, too.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

I have created some kind of chemical reaction under my bathroom sink. I went to investigate some green goo dripping out of the bottom of the vanity and found a sea of green goo and weirdly corroded metal. The green goo turns purple when exposed to water. I think a bottle of toilet cleaner must have had a small leak. I apparently skipped Martin Luther and went directly to Alfred Nobel.

Because books.

Morphine makes me itch.

Any kind of opiate makes me itch. I don't much care, though.

I definitely got the nubain with Sara, Cindy, and you're right -- it was much more that I didn't care about the pain than that I didn't feel it. Kind of an, "Oh, huh, that hurts," kind of thing.

Yay on de-Christmasing! I thought we were the only people left with a tree up. Stephen is promising to do it today. We shall see. The lure of football is strong, apparently.

Boo on goo, Ginger. Cool color-changing, though.
