Spike's Bitches 34: They're All Slime and Antlers

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

For all the Buffistas with back problems

Boing Boing recommends this Sports Akileine Start Cream as rub-in pain reliever many times more effective than Tiger Balm. Apparently he first tried it in France.

I have not tried it myself, have no idea of side effects and no personal experience with the stuff. But Boing Boing is generally reliable, and too many Buffistas have too much pain not to pass the tip around in case it works for anybody. I'm going to try it myself, so will let you know if it works particularly well for me.

brillig

8 for 8 Supernatural episodes, there's always a damsel in distress. I do hope that changes.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Oh David, did you see Michelle Williams' new 'do? ADORABLE:

GC's my favorite.

Poor Hubs knee. My knees have been barking for the last two months. I'm afraid I'm going to blow out an ACL any minute now.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

And when Hec gets home, remind him that before you leave we need to retrieve your beautiful coat from our car.

oops. just means I have to see you next week.

FTR, Hec and JZ are made of awesome as Oscars hosts, and tonight was a lot of fun.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

FTR, Hec and JZ are made of awesome as Oscars hosts, and tonight was a lot of fun.

It was fun. Conversation included this exchange:

Juliana: I love Jada Pinkett. There's this thing she did during an interview which kind of sounds like she was an asshole, but I love her anyway.
Me: Because we've already established that you're not afraid of loving an asshole.

There was also an involved metaphor with the binky and in short, Juliana took some (affectionate) abuse (cheerfully) tonight. There might have been some riff about "lumberjacks with issues" about her love mates too.

I also had to tell JZ to quit loving the baby so much. "Stop it! You and your love. That's enough."

She was all undeterred and proceeded with her wackass Love The Baby program.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Much knee~ma to your Hubs, Fred.

Does every episode have a damsel in distress?

I seem to recall one or two with children in distress instead. But yeah, much as I enjoy SPN, I do think it could be improved with an infusion of Faith or Buffy or new-version Starbuck. Then again, I think that about most shows, up to and including Countdown.

She was all undeterred and proceeded with her wackass Love The Baby program.

When will the madness end?

I gave up on the Oscars around 9, mostly due to the Nyquil I took. Sleep won out over seeing kinda pretty people wearing way too expensive clothes.

What is even happening?

Oh Fred Pete, healing and rest to you and Hubs.

I am so tired, I didn't originally look for the picture in vw's dress. It's a cute dress and Matilda makes it even cuter.
I hope you got some good rest, sj.

I also had to tell JZ to quit loving the baby so much. "Stop it! You and your love. That's enough."
That's just crazy talk.
She was all undeterred and proceeded with her wackass Love The Baby program.
Wise choice.

eta...

Too true. The first couple of times I saw Veronica Mars in physical danger, I was extremely frustrated that she couldn't just kick everyone's ass.

Ann, that's a ferret.

Thanks for the thoughts. His knee is better today (though he's still home, partly because of what walking on possibly icy concrete could do to the knee, partly to wait for a UPS package).

Knee pain is awful. He was smart to stay home.
