Spike's Bitches 34: They're All Slime and Antlers

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

What is even happening?

Are you going to be able to get to the Plan B place?

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

The blood test is more accurate, and can give you results sooner than the pee-sticks.

It's more accurate (in that it quantifies how much of the hormone they're testing for is there, and isn't affected by urine dilution), but faster? The urine tests don't require sending anything to a lab, and give results in under five minutes.

I've never had a blood test for pregnancy for treatment of anything but, well, pregnancy.

All other screens for it (required before getting the pill or the IUD) have involved a urine test.

Looks like it. Won't know for sure, though, till after I'm evaluated. At 9:00pm. Blech. I'm exhausted just thinking about how that appointment is gonna go.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Not faster in terms of lab processing time, faster in terms of showing results closer to the date of conception (since it's more sensitive).

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I think "faster" in this context means "earlier in the pregnancy".

I'm a strong proponent of sleeping when you are tired, vw. I understand wanting to be able to sleep tonight, but wearing yourself out meanwhile might notbe worth it.

{{vw}} Can you set yourself to a fun-ish task like baking something, or go out for a walk or something? When I need to stay awake it usually means I have to find something to do that keeps me from looking at the clock.

Bonjour! We got back from Paris last night, and we have no idea what time it is. My watch says just before 1 p.m., but it doesn't feel right.

Now tagless for your comfort.

SA, I just have SUCH curl envy!

Me, too!!! It's adorable hair like this that made me resort to bad perms as a kid. SA is so damned adorable.

They're just not gonna see me at my best. Ha!

This made me laugh out loud.

Today is Toddler Zone/McDonalds day. I'm very full of French fries, as is Liv. Owen fed his chicken nuggets to the dog.

Ah. Gotcha. I think most Doctor's office urine tests now detect at 20-25 mIU, which is pretty damn sensitive, but would still have a false negative rate slightly higher than that of a beta blood draw. I suspect my doctor's office sees the chance of a false negative as slim enough to not be worth the cost of the lab work.
