Lorne: Take care of yourself and ah, make sure fluffy is getting enough love. Gunn: Did he have anything? Fred: No. And who's fluffy? Are you fluffy? Gunn: He called me fluffy? Fred: He said make sure…wait. You don't think he was referring to anything of mine that's fluffy, do you? Because that would just be inappropriate.

What is even happening?

Nora, much health to your grandmother, and some perspective for your mom, and peace for you.

And the hairy eyeball to your jerkface car.

oh joy! Oh Rapture ! I have a brain!

much ma~~ for your grandmother, Nora.

I am wondering if I am going to ever get past the mmrffle stage today. DH says it is a step up from gronk because it is two syllables, but I'm not sure. I think mmrffle is gronk's sleepy cousin.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

Much, much health-ma to your grandma, and a stern glare to your car.

You are not not not a jerk, Nora dear!

I agree. No audible vowels? That's a give-away, I think.

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

Nora, do you feel like a jerk b/c your mom thinks that you "should" go to the hospital? I'm only asking because we have really similar family dynamics (that are in NO way unhealthy or dyfunctional, or fucked up, nope, no way, not at all....), and that's what would have happened with me.

Unless I'm misreading. But it sounds like there was a maternal guilt trip foisted upon you in lieu of the Unsafe Car Trip.

And, honestly, if your grandma has an infection or even pneumonia, it's certainly not something to just pooh-pooh as no big deal, but neither is is OMG!Life!Threatening!, and so the fact that you can't make it to the hospital because you don't want to, you know, HAVE A CAR ACCIDENT, isn't a Bad Daughter Moment(TM).

Or perhaps I'm extrapolating a teensy bit too much, and if I am, tell me to shut the hell up.

Worrying about your grandma is normal. But it doesn't sound life-threatening, and you aren't begging off visiting so that you and Tom can snort cocaine of the asses of the hookers you invited over for the orgy tonight, you know?

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

so that you and Tom can snort cocaine of the asses of the hookers you invited over for the orgy tonight, you know?
Hey, plans are plans...

I am SO in the mmrffle stage. I cannot wake up, despite great lashings of coffee, and my brain feels like it's slowly collapsing in on itself, like a flan in a cupboard.

This, in the face of a spectacularly filthy apartment that needs to be cleaned and dinner made and myself un-dirtified before 7 p.m., which is the time I told people to come over for game night.

I am INSANE.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Raq, I'm not sure where all you would want to shop for it, but here is a Froogle listing of the name brand, Mucinex - [link] . It shows Walgreens.com, and I got their store brand. I believe that Drugstore.com would also have it. Hope that helps.

ETA: hit post too soon. Much ~ma for your Grandma, Nora. And car~ma for you.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

Nora, do you feel like a jerk b/c your mom thinks that you "should" go to the hospital?

Yes. But I may be projecting. You know how it is.

But it doesn't sound life-threatening, and you aren't begging off visiting so that you and Tom can snort cocaine of the asses of the hookers you invited over for the orgy tonight, you know?

Well, it wouldn't be a problem if a substantial deposit wasn't involved.

I've said too much.

But for reals, Tom and I have been wrestling with helplessness WRT other family members to a fairly high stress point so I think I'm having a hard time judging what's appropriate. I think my expectations are higher than anyone else's, this time.

In better news, we are kicking some serious organizational ass now that we have our guest suite area back! We still have a long way to go, but hey, we aren't going anywhere...
