Gee, after last night's posting, I'm all kinds of surprised to hear that Nora.

so I ended up eating at a train restarant with Suzi and some others

Yay!

Last night I had a more disturbing dream about confronting my cousins regarding family obligations, a total smack down. Of course, I'm the youngest of the 4 of us, with the eldest being a good 15 years older than me.

While I will be seeing all three of them later today, I doubt I'll have the guts to even give them a hint that they have screwed up so badly.Yes, I am a wuss.

What is even happening?

I hope the dream was at least a little cathartic for you, Suzi.

We will see how the day actually ends up going. I've been pissed at my cousins since my mom's transplant. This is the first time I'll be seeing all three together since then.

The family is getting together cause of the cousins sold her house and her family (her, plus her husband, 3 year old daughter and 13 year old daughter) are leaving for Africa for a year. They will be volunteering, trying to start up an orphanage and repopulate a town that has all the infrastructure in place, but it has basically become a ghost town.

As wonderful and self-sacraficing as all that is - my family was the last to hear about this and this particular cousin hasn't been in touch with us for over 6 months. Hasn't returned phone calls or e-mails or anything.

I'm an only child. These three cousins are the closest I have ever had to siblings and they know it. When their mom was dying, my mom promised to always be there for the girls. Too bad they don't seem to care.

Gah - issues much?

And with my whining, I kill the thread. My apologies. Time to packup and leave anyway.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

I feel for you, SuziQ. Trying to get family to deal reasonably with family obligations is hard. I only have to wrestle with my sister, and it drives me crazy.

Mostly lurking...

Suzi, I'm sorry about all the stress.

Nora! Go you with the essay writing!

I'm getting the pig!

Ack, Suzi. I hope the day goes as well as possible, without you having to bite your tongue too much.

Write, Nora! Write!

Morning, all. I'm using the weekend to attempt to de-clutter my house and re-arrange things a bit. I've hit a bump in the road though. There should really be a Single Girl's Guide To Moving Heavy Entertainment Centers pamphlet or book out there. I could use it right about now.

Maybe if I took the tv out of it... Hmmm.

Nope. That didn't work.

But I got my heart rate up and broke a nail. Woo hoo.

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

Single Girl's Guide To Moving Heavy Entertainment Centers pamphlet or book out there.

I did that last week! Well, not get the book, but moved my entertainment center. I ended up taking most of the stuff out of it to move it. And, I, too, broke a nail, so I think the pamphlet needs to cover how not to do that.
