Spike's Bitches 34: They're All Slime and Antlers

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

I miss what I paid in MSP for my HUGE two-bedroom, but I love living in San Francisco. And I do have a cute apartment.

Yeah, when I lived in DC, I moved from one neighborhood to another. My rent doubled. And I didn't regret it for a sec.

Are we repeating CS conversations here? Because I've had a doozy trying to get my sister's cell turned back on this week.

What is even happening?

I pulled a groin muscle by coughing while walking up the stairs.

I'm taking a (ginger) stand and saying that's not fair.

(I'm also trying not to worry that I've herniated anything, because it does seem to just be a groin thing, but I'm a bit of a mental case about myself, lately.)

Hey. New board.

Yeah, the scrambled eggs at Roscoe's are nummy. For me, though, it's all about the fried chicken omelette. With a waffle on the side. And ketchup on the omelette. De. Lic. Ious.

maybe I'll go to Roscoe's TWICE while I'm in Pasadena.

(Note: I am from Mississippi. Waffles and fried chicken are Big Deals to me. Roscoe's does them as well as any I've ever had, better than most, and at the same place. It's the best place in the world.)

Thrive to spite them

laughs at Steph's Beavis and Butthead impression.

I have a sweet deal on the house I rent. My grandmother lived here before so I get it at $450. It's small though, I'm not sure how many square feet, but it's a living/dining room, a kitchen, bedroom about the size of the living/dining area, a bathroom, and a kick ass walk in closet. Plus a laundry room outside and a yard.

And it's in a highly desired neighborhood.

Finding places to rent in this town can be tricky because places either cater to students or the legislature.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I pulled a groin muscle by coughing while walking up the stairs.

My survey reports that most groin pulls are from something really stupid and un-noteworthy. I'm currently suffering from one, possibly my worst ever, from having put a body triangle on someone. Bear in mind that I put it on successfully (he had to tap out), he wasn't struggling--just sitting there, and I felt nothing until I disentangled my legs. My previous favourite groin strain was incurred while shadow boxing.

Right now, not a big groin fan.

Catching up after a few days, while loopy on migraine meds. Er.

Sorry some had sucky Valentine's Days. I went out with my coworker (we were in San Antonio) to the outlet mall. We figured no one would be there. And they weren't. However, when we tried to hit the Outback Steakhouse at the mall, it was PACKED--at 8:30PM, they told us it was a 45 minute wait!! WTF? So instead we went next door to Bennigan's. Where we were a good ten years older than every waiter, and more than that older than the six kids sitting next to us, who were making out a lot and sharing the "$30 for two, three course meal" special. Ew? We told our whole department about our romantic evening, at the department meeting today. :)

Randomly: my hair looks really good today, and I have no idea how it got like that. But it also doesn't look like ME. How sad is that?

And, I have a migraine. But I also have MEDICATION! It's taken the pain away, but I still feel...weird. I am not, however, puking, avoiding the light, or in extreme pain. So weird works.

very deep, very loud, very stern voice with extra firm POINTING: "NO!"

HAH! And now i can totally picture Em doing this.

CONGRATS TO BON BON AND BOB BOB!!

you can get a 2-br apartment in LA for under $1200/month???

Holy crap, I don't think you can get a 2-bedroom apartment even in the DC suburbs for under $1200 a month, unless you go waaaaaaaaay into the suburbs.

As for Roscoe's, I just remember going there and Pete got chicken livers. And I tried one. And it was freaky. I don't remember what *I* ordered, though it was probably the signature chicken and waffles...

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

AmyLiz, we totally should! I'm in Somerset. Where are you?

Congratulations, bon bon and Bob Bob!!!

(Who thought bonobo? Because I did too.)

And congrats on the sweet gig, Jon!

And yay for 3-day weekend! I have a long list of things to accomplish, too. Scary. What if I get them all done? Who will I be then?

IM IN UR INTRNT, EETING UR GOOOODA.

Because books.

AmyLiz, we totally should! I'm in Somerset. Where are you?

We live way up in upstate New York now, but my parents live in SE Pennsylvania, and we have a lot of friends in NJ since we both grew up there (mostly around Westfield). When we lived in Bucks County, PA, we used to go up Route 202/22 to get to Westfield, and I would have passed right by you!

Hey, I even know where Westfield is! I think. Union County, has a Trader Joe's? If you ever come by here when you have a couple hours, we should F2F.
