I want something salty and bad for me
right now!
I'm very tempted to run over to the Ferry Building and procure a fried shrimp cake. Oh, they're good.
Very funny and horrible piece by Michael Lewis - "Have I Screwed Up My Daughters Forever"
Includes the blue post-it of Doom: "Meany Meany You Are A Meany DAD"
Smothered chicken, however, sounds nummy.
come visit and I'll make you some. with mashed potatoes. possibly collard greens

Curse you people and your Roscoe's talk! There is no place in Seattle I can get chicken and waffles.
I don't think I can get chicken and waffles around here, but I can get awesome bacon waffles, and I'm'a go sit in the Cash corner with the smoky pork products.
My dad used to eat stuff in front of us all the time. It occurs to me I spend a lot of time posting that my dad is a jerk.
I've eaten Emeline's dinner on one or two occasions. When she's being particularly recalcitrant and refuses to eat out of pique, I've grabbed her food and started in on it.
Nothing gets her to wanting to eat her dinner faster than Daddy saying "Hell, I'll eat it, then."
Stop it, all of you! I live too close to Roscoe's and my cholesterol is too high for all of this tempting!
ETA: Robin and Miracleborns! Maybe we should introduce Jon B. to the evil that is Roscoes next week...? We could eat and then haul our stuffed bellies the half mile to our house where slounging could follow.
any one ever repainted appliances - esp the stove? I've read that it is possible but haven't found a paint co that sells paint that I can use on the stove. and really this is a temp improvement until we can buy a new one. so I don't really want to pay a lot to do this
ETA; chiken and waffles would keep me from thinking about this.

I know on one home improvement show they painted the inside of a fireplace with some kind of heat-resistant paint. I'm trying to remember if it was some kind of auto paint, maybe?
Does it have to be special paint, though? The outside of your stove shouldn't be hot when it's on anyway.
I did see someone painting a fridge on TV the other day (Design on a Dime, maybe?) and they used a fine grit sandpaper, lightly, to remove just the gloss before painting. I don't think they used a special paint but I could be wrong.

but the top can get hot when the burners or oven is on..
and it was Design on a Dime that gave me the idea - and they did use an applance paint - that you can get. Rustoleum says no to range tops - but it seems to be more of a food saftey issue. Krylon claims to be non- toxic when it drys - and I know that they have paint that can take the heat. I sent them an email, so we shall see.
Are you having a better day, AmyLiz?
