Yes, it's terribly simple. The good guys are always stalwart and true, the bad guys are easily distinguished by their pointy horns or black hats, and, uh, we always defeat them and save the day. No one ever dies, and everybody lives happily ever after.

Spike's Bitches 34: They're All Slime and Antlers

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

What is even happening?

Is it typically found outside?

vw, yes. And yes, we can continue another time. Sorry it took me so long. I had to settle the kids down, and then Scott had to tell me something. Also, I did end up taking the Celexa, because I'm so freaking mellow from the Ativan (which is only .5mg)

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

Morning all! My munchkins just did their Chinese New Year Assembly for the school and the parents, and it was Very Good Indeed. Bless. And the monkey (who had the line 'Go monkey! Choose monkey!' ...because I wrote the script, and I always like to have things that make me laugh in my scripts, even if nobody else knows why it's funny) brought in his own monkey costume! With a red bum! And a tail! And everything! I was very impressed. The rooster also had his own outfit from home (although it was more of a parrot outfit, really), but everyone else was wearing an appropriate colour costume accompanied by a cute half-mask (designed by yours truly, coloured by the kids). And then after we'd performed a wee play to show how all the years got their names, we had our wee percussion group (clad in red Chinese outfits) and streamer-waving dancers, and our two-man lion. The lion costume was DIY, made by us, and it was bloody splendid, if I do say so myself. Jacob, who played the lion's head & is in my colleague's class, came up to me in the playground yesterday with a very grave expression and said "I'm the lion." And I said "I know! You're very good!" And he said "Really? I don't think I am very good." And my heart broke a bit, because he's only seven and he looked so serious and sad, and he WAS doing a good job - and I tried to make him believe that I wasn't just fobbing him off, and wished that he could see himself. And then I scrabbled in my brain for the remnants of the Czech that I picked up ten years ago (for Jacob is Czech) and told him he was 'vyborne', which I was fairly sure meant excellent, and his face lit up. Which was nice. And today he did a fab job. Bless.

Meanwhile my ovaries exploded with love at the sheer bloody CUTENESS of my kids who were being animals. Ray, The Cutest Kid In The World (whose crown is now shared by Canberra and Paul), played the dog, and, omg, I just cannot tell you how unspeakably cute he looked. And his delivery was hilarious - so stilted and earnest and emphatic, with a head nod to punctuate every word. God. I couldn't even SEE him and I was laughing my socks off. Bless. Bless. Bless. And my narrators did a great job too! And hardly anyone needed prompting!

In short - Year 2 (Grade 1, in your crazy foreign world) rock!!!

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

That sounds adorable, Fay.

Also, the Embassy of Bosnia and Herzegovina didn't shovel their sidewalk. It was full of ice tonight -- I nearly slipped walking over it, and I was helping an old lady get through and it took us about five minutes to go about 20 feet. According to wikipedia, Bosnia and Herzegovina (wow that's an awkward name for a country) gets snow -- they should know to shovel!

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

Wait - Canberra? Seriously?

I love kid's talent shows. So cute!

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

((((Cindy)))) ((((Aimee)))). Is it wrong to laugh at Em's antics? If it is, I'm not sure I want to be right.

The kissing up continues. I got a bottle of cask strength Macallan when I got home. I have to pack! But I'm tipsy. My outfits will be...surprising when I get home.

What is even happening?

Go kissing up!!!!!

I'll be all right, as long as I have my one true love, Ativan. Where have you been all my life?

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

I haven't even had a full glass yet and I'm almost up to drunk posting! I think Imma hafta bootleg this back to Louisiana.

I am so fired up for this trip! My best friend will be there, and we get to show our Dallas friends our hometown. Plus they can meet my mother, which I feel like, between that and meeting my dad this summer, they'll go, "Oh! So that's why!"

Thanks for the advice. I think I'll wait a few days and see what happens before I call a doctor.

I'd planned to make corn muffins tonight. I just realized I don't have any cornmeal. I could have sworn I had a full bag of it. This could pose some problems.
