Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

She's too young to know about Muppet sex!

Speaking of geek, my tv watched an old SG1 (cause of the word "ancient") and Hathor reminded me of you.

To sum up, I spent $600,000 (okay, it was me and the rest of the Komen grants committee) and my nightstand has a syringe (okay, for the cat, whatever) and an empty beer (okay ... wait, no, that *is* mine) on it. The world is safe for boobies, kittens and my remaining sanity.

I like your plan.

me too. I do have two more DA disks though, too.

What to do, what to do.

YAY for making the world safe for Boobies.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Hmm. Which episodes are on the discs? You still in the Ackles Free Zone? (Which ep is Pollo Loco? 1x18? 1x16?)

Still very much Ackles Free. The disks I have only go up to Red (1x10), and Pollo Loco is 1x17

I figure in the karma go round today that making the world a safer place for boobies got my car out of lockup.

I did a good thing... He did a good thing... How do you feel about Mexican?

Except in this case I just got to go home and not hook Miss Calendar and Giles up together. Also now I want Mexican food.

Is Pollo Loco the one with the actual chicken? Off to the ep guide, away!

"In the equation E = mc⬧, c⬧ is a pretty big honking number." - Scola

So, er, I have to summon up the courage to ask someone if they think I'm actually so bad I should give up on teaching.

And, not unrelatedly, the courage to give my principal a calm and reasoned response to his last evaluation.

Do you *want* to give up teaching, Emily? I think (and this is just guesswork) there can be places where the first year is rough and horrible but you get over it and then times when maybe this is something you just can't be happy doing. And the difference between them is huge.

Man, I wish I had answers. Times like this make being detained by the Canadians (or detained from going into Canada? I am remembering it as coming back into the US though) look almost good?

It was, alas, this one.

No! Well... not unless it really is like this all the time. But everyone tells me it isn't. Just, if I'm so bad that kids are actually better served having any other teacher, then I should go find something that I'm either good at or is at least easier than this!

Oh, Emily, I'm sorry it's been so hard. I wish I had answers, but I think talking to people and trying to figure out if you want to keep teaching is a good idea.

I find it pretty impossible to believe that kids would be better served by having any other teacher though.

Sorry, my laughing at the time distracted me from accurately remembering. Laughing +long-term memory is obviously not the OTP. Maybe I should have tried a mnemonic.

From everything I have ever heard, it really isn't always like this. It's hard always but it is just brutal for the first year. Which is cruel because you should be given cupcakes and flowers for all of the work you've gone through to get there and the fact that you want to help kids learn and grow and become good adults.

I hope it gets easier and also clearer for you. I can't imagine being in a job like that and wondering if I was in the right place. You have so much of my admiration. From everything I know, you are a good teacher. It would be a shame if the realm of education lost you.

And Lee is wise. I can't imagine a class that would be better without you in it. You love learning and you want to share that.
