Spike's Bitches 34: They're All Slime and Antlers

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

The more I learn, the more I realize how little I know.

Perhaps it's triggered by a cookie on his computer, because he is a returning customer.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I'm returning too. Same browser and all.

RE:Free TurboTax - to find it you have to go to the Online tab

Edit: and now, of course I can't find it there either..I swear it was there when I looked a little while ago!

Why isn't everyone pelting me with JOY, dammit? - Zenkitty

You guys can get to the free Turbo Tax if you go through the IRS site, if you can't find it anywhere else. IRS.gov has a "free file" link. You can follow that to a list of companies where you can file for free, including TurboTax. If I remember correctly, TurboTax will file Federal for free, and then it's $20 or $30 for State.

Trust my rage

Does anyone know if any of the tax programs do Puerto Rican taxes? I looked on TurboTax today and I don't think they do. I'm bitter that I have to pay tax here.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I've used TurboTax online the last few years and been perfectly satisfied. This year they have decided that they can't pull my info from previous years because I used the web app instead of desktop, so I might switch to TaxCut on principle.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Yeah, I ran into the same thing -- and while they've been handy for the adding up of numbers and deductions and such, I'm not so in love with them and their consistent failure to make forms that actually print easily on any of my computer/browser combinations that I need to come back to them without the "I've used them before" lock-in factor.

Now tagless for your comfort.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

Dinner update: omlette is tangy (thank you, feta!) and rich (thank you, avocado!) and my belly is growing happy. English muffin soon to follow omlette.

Resume normal conversation.

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

I've been doing the Weight Watchers Core diet lately, which seems to work pretty well for me. (Basically, there's a list of foods that you can eat -- fruits and veggies, beans, whole grains, fat-free dairy, lean meat -- and then you're allowed 35 points per week of whatever else you want. Some weeks, the 35 points works out to little things at each meal -- sugar on my oatmeal, real cheese rather than fat-free in a casserole, a whole wheat roll with dinner -- and sometimes I save it up to cover going out to dinner and drinks on the weekend.)

Yes, this. Although I've been crappy with the gym-going this week. Crappy crappy crappy. And walking half an hour every day is an excellent rule of thumb - I'm loosely aiming to do that (because in theory I walk to work and back 5 days a week, which is a 15 minute walk each way - except sometimes I get the sky train off to some other place and go shopping, or whatever, and I don't tend to think of the shopping or whatever as counting as exercise) but I think I shall now make it a rule to make sure I DO do it every day.

You people on the Core plan impress me, because I looked at it and knew it would drive me crazy. I've (mostly) managed to stick with the Flex plan. I say mostly because there have been weeks when I have been not-so-good about keeping track of my food. But, I've lost 36lbs in a little over a year and a half; more importantly, while I may hit plateaus (like recently, *sigh*), I haven't gained any of the weight BACK.

Go Team with the no regaining! Excellent! It's funny, though - the prospect of Flex drives me crazy, with all the point-counting. Go figure!

I only lost 7 lbs last week.

Respectfully - WTF? There is no 'only' in this sentence. Expecting to lose more than half a stone a week is not realistic, surely, as a long-term weightloss strategy. I mean, Go You with losing half a stone in a week.
