Spike's Bitches 34: They're All Slime and Antlers
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Sneaking in under the wire to wish Victor and Aidan Felicitations on the Anniversary of their shared Natal Day, and a year ahead of wonders and joys.
DH and I were supposed to leave tomorrow morning for three days at the beach. Oceanfront hotel booked and everything. I'm sick. Mom's sick. I could probably tough it out and might even enjoy myself, but with Mom it could turn serious quickly, and I don't feel comfortable leaving her, even though StY will be here.
So DH is going on his own, and will try to rebook something for both of us in a few weeks. Little disappointed now.
why does the boiling noise get softer before the pot comes to a complete boil?
Because its nefarious plan is almost complete.
why does the boiling noise get softer before the pot comes to a complete boil?
Because the noise is the sound of bubbles collapsing under the pressure of the water. At first, bubbles form at the bottom of the water but collapse before they make it to the surface, but as full boil approaches, more and more bubbles make it to the surface and do not noisily collapse.
Whitefonted for those who would like to preserve the mystery. Or don't care. My dad explained that to us so many times growing up, at this point any time any of us boil water we can just say "That sound" and crack each other up.
Parents of toddlers and former toddlers. I need guidance.
Em has been going to bed at 7:30 since she was about 8 months old. There is a whole bedtime routine - bath, books, kisses, lights off. There has been very little problems with this. As of late, she is getting out of bed a number of times - wanting more stories, water, etc. She is also getting up at 2am - almost on the dot - and getting into bed with us.
Are we putting her down too early? Should we adjust bedtime to 8:00 so that she goes to sleep and sleeps through the night? Should we just keep her bedtime as it is and just keep reinforcing it and not let her into bed with us? Do we get her some Ambien? Should I look in the closet for the spaceship this new creature came in when she traded places with my sleeping girl??
Ambien and a shot of Jack. But she's little, so only half a pill?
Got it.

What about for Em?

No Jack. Fifth of Crown Royal, though.
