Spike's Bitches 34: They're All Slime and Antlers

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Good!

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I have no interest in watching Napoleon Dynamite. I'm realising that it's best if I avoid most US high school movies, because I really don't get it.

Thanks, flea! Will read it soon.

Always Anti-fascist!

My brother used to do that, Hec.

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

K-Bug and C rented Napoleon Dynamite and I tried to watch it with them, but it made my teeth itch. Just bugged.

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

I wasn't going to watch Napoleon Dynamite until my mom told me she loved it & then I ended up loving it too. It really surprised me when Mom didn't like Little Miss Sunshine. I had thought they had a lot in common.

Because books.

I've managed to not actually watch it, and yet have heard almost the entire thing regurgitated back to me via Emmett's rehashing the jokes and inflections.

Is this a boy thing? Both Jake and Ben do this constantly. Which is kind of okay if I like the movie, but otherwise not so much.

Also, why is it so wrong just to say "I'm going to give them a fifties lamp"? Why must it always be "mid-century modern"? Is it necessary to be so pendantic when you're making something out of plywood and a light kit?

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Maybe because a fifties lamp could be a lot of different styles and Mid-Century Modern is specific style? One of those lamps with a Bullfighter base and a red silk shade is fifties, right?

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

That was my experience with Austin Powers. I have no need to see that movie, thanks to everyone I worked with endlessly reciting it.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Is this a boy thing?

I don't know. Buffistas can riff on Princess Bride for two hours without pausing for a breath.
