I got a very weird email yesterday. It was from someone who's fairly well-known in the field of math that I'm studying. It was phrased as if it were somewhere in the middle of a correspondence, refering to "the problem" and "the paper" as if there were some specific ones being referred to. Except, I've never emailed this guy before. I don't know what problem he's talking about. I met him once, several months ago, when he gave a talk and I spoke to him for maybe a minute or two afterwards. I don't know where he got my email address.
It's all very confusing. (I already asked my advisor to see if maybe he'd mentioned something about the research I was doing to him, but he said no.)
Hell, as soon as I get my bike (which *might* happen in 2007. Hopefully), I'll be plotting road trips anyway.
Hil, that is weird.
Takes one to know one, missy.
blows Pete kisses.
No idea to what you are referring to.
Bater.
BWAHAHAHA!
J, almost done w/beta, BTW.
I just fake tap danced to Kermit's version of Happy Feet.
I feel both energized and kinda lame.
That's weird, Hil. Maybe your e-mail address is similar to someone else's, who he has been in correspondence? That would be quite a coincidence, but the other explanations that spring to mind involve time travel or dimensional shifting.
I might need some popcorn for this episode of The List.
Is this the same beta, Juliana?

This would, presumably, be the first spin-off from the heavily syndicated 'Pete & Jilli Show'.
Perhaps a special for sweeps.
