I've been noticing a bunch of students around campus wearing leggings that leave the bottom few inches of leg bare. It's 23 degrees! Wear some socks!
Most of them seem to be pairing the leggings with Ugg boots, though. Which looks silly, IMO, but at least it also looks warm.
OK. I heated up some tempeh that I'd been planning on having for lunch. Feel a bit less dizzy now.
It does sound like a sugar drop Hil. Hope the tempeh does the trick for you.
I managed to get my son out of IB Algebra II and into Honors Algebra II. Doesn't sound so big, but they are on chapter 4 instead of chapter 7 of the same book. Math is not his best subject. He does well, but it is really tough. He is in class with all 10th grade students because he already had Algebra I in MS. Here's hoping we can turn those Fs into Cs! Woo! Again with the old fogeyness, it seems that his work is way harder than mine was in HS. Harder than my college work.
I still end up in open-toed shoes in weather that doesn't match my footwear. And often don't have socks on.
Though winter here has made me lurve my really good socks. I need mooooooooore. But they are expensive.
I am a Getting Things Done girl today. Just sorted a bunch of mail and then burned what could be burned. It was its own reward, really. FIRE!
re: shirtless Daniel Radcliffe.
For all my glurble and saving the picture on my computer, I don't really have a desire to mack on the boy. What I really want is for him to lounge around looking nummy where I can gaze upon and appreciate.
Does that make me less or more a dirty old woman?
(However, the idea of a similary nummy young man joining him in his lounging ups the ante right through the roof. I suspect I may just be kinky that way.)
Pretty, pretty Dan Radcliffe. Who is not the same person as that Harry kid, at all, at all. My verses are separate with no bleedthrough of character, yes they are.
Safe travels, Sparky!
Good school, vw!
More heat, sumi! Have you thought of a wee electric space heater? I have one, and I couldn't live without it. My desk is on a south wall, to my right is a window facing west at the end of a six-foot dormer. The dormer holds bookcases that are my ref library, poetry, and friends' books, apart from general population books elsewhere. It works well, except when it's really cold, or we occasionally get weather from the west. I wear a fleece vest over my sweats because we keep the heat down anyway. When I'm up and busy I'm warm enough, and when I sit, we have fleece throws to chase the chill off legs. I have a lap blanket at my desk, and in cold weather, I'm usually wearing fingerless mitts at the desk.
The last day or so we've had extra-cold westerly weather, and I had to resort to the baby space heater. It's under my desk chair, aimed at the kneehole, and I run it when things cool down enough to be uncomfortable.
Ooh, I also found the Doctor Who scarf that was my first crochet project, yonks ago. Verra toasty about the back of the neck and ears.
The moral of the story being, small electric space heaters can heat the space you're in rather than the whole room, short-term, make your life better, and not be overly costly to your electric bill.
In other news, my laptop is in DH's hands, and I'm dithering. He wanted to frell with the virus/firewall/popup dealie, it got hung, and now he's attempting to restore. His idea of "protection" is no frakkin internet at all.
All my SPN eps are on my laptop! And iTunes is now telling me Night Shifter and Croatoan (finally!) are up for download. Waaaaant laaaptop baaaaack now!
Okay, yeah, first world problem. Still. Back up off the laptop and nobody gets hurt.

I have one of those! It's been keeping my neck warm for years!
Does that make me less or more a dirty old woman?
Possibly less -- I hope that doesn't disappoint you. I looked at those pictures and could see the beauty, and see why people were having the reactions they were having, but they did nothing to my libido. My reaction was more akin to the way I appreciate a fat baby or pretty little girl: this is a beautiful person.

Finally! Of course, yesterday itunes sent me an email saying that they didn't know when Croatoan would be up and giving me a free video credit because of it.
I should go do something about that. Maybe the Scrubs musical.
AT LAST!!!
But I am not home to grab them! WOE!
