Spike's Bitches 34: They're All Slime and Antlers
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Yay, Nora!!! That's great.
That's great Nora!
edited because a wild e lept into Nora's name
Isn't that a great feeling, Nora? Go you!
That's great, Nora!
Hard to believe, but I actually have work to do today. Wasn't so happy about that yesterday because I spent almost 11 hours at work. Still, it means I should finish up that project by my normal quitting time today and that's good.
I have met no people who suck today, but that is because I am avoiding the stockroom. They suck in absentia.
Weather as a last resort.
hah! I was just thinking this morning about how I LIKE to talk about the weather! I'm a freak among freaks!!!
Happy Birthday Anne!!!!!
And, go, Nora on the PANTS revelation!!! Pants!
Happy Birthday, Anne!
I am Bev and Cass. I have a hard time getting started with small talk, but once I do I start babbling out of nervousness. And I'll keep trying, even when it gets awkward, because I feel like I should be making other people comfortable by taking the onus of finding new subjects off their shoulders.
New job starts today. at noon. Which in the long run is great - but today it is makeing me vaguely tense and hyper. I might be one of the people that sucks today, because even though I know DH didn't get enough sleep last night I keep looking at him like he is a crazy person because he doesn't seem to know what is going on in my life.
May your first day at new job be a good day, beth. Sounds like Matt needs more coffee. Don't we all?
Good luck, beth! I bet the day goes really well.
Small talk: I can do it. I think I got used to it early on, due to a lot of adults in my life when my mom was sick. It doesn't bother me, and like Hec I think it's simply a kind of social lubrication, but at the same time it does get tiresome.
Elevators are definitely an issue -- we got those little TV screens in ours when I was still working in the city, and ridiculous as it was to stand in this box for all of a minute staring at a screen, it was better than talking (again) about how cold the office was, or who kept leaving old yogurt in the fridge, or whatever.
