Spike's Bitches 34: They're All Slime and Antlers

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

GAH. Went from the EDS site to a keloid site and HMOG, I need to remember that I have a medical squick and not Google anything that might trip that. Oy.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

Kristin? I have my M.A. in English and my M.Ed., and lemme tell you, the M.Eng is SO much more fun and interesting. Also, harder, but better (as so many things are...and that's my nod to Hec's WoBath brow waggle in my direction.)

Also, Oxford is SO COOL. I got to do Woolf research at the Bodleian when I spent a semester in London, and it was so fucking much of a bibliogasm. And they have the most amazing Brie and garlic and turkey sandwiches in the market there!!

Our wings are not tired.

Jess, totally agreed with what's said upthread--YAY! and also that if you and E agree on the middle, then that's that!

I hope any surgery being performed to make girly parts less painful is very, very successful. So sorry it's come to that, though.

Anyone else go through a phase when the names "Bigwig", "Fiver" and "Hazel" seemed perfectly acceptable for kids' names? No? Just me...?

SO excited about Kristin's English programme. Yay for her having to study along with the rest of us...

ETA:

And they have the most amazing Brie and garlic and turkey sandwiches in the market there!!

And not to mention the world's best library giftstore.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Anyone else go through a phase when the names "Bigwig", "Fiver" and "Hazel" seemed perfectly acceptable for kids' names? No? Just me...?

Now that's just crazy talk -- those are nicknames! (Thlayli and Hrairoo, on the other hand...)

Embrace the idea that we are the leaders we've been looking for. Grace Lee Boggs

I'm really excited about the possibility of this grad school experience.

I was so excited when I saw Breadloaf, because we have Breadloaf here in Juneau, but alas, apparently ours is not one of the campuses for the degree. I guess we're special. pouts.

Don't go to netanatomy.com, ita. I thought it was going to have drawings or something. May plastic models. I was so, very wrong, and now understand that there was more to me deciding not to be a pediatrician than not being great at math or science.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Kristin, the grad school stuff sounds terrific!

Campuses (at which I will spend at least one summer each): Middlebury, VT (main campus); Santa Fe, NM; Asheville, NC; and Oxford, England!

If you want some mini-F2Fing give the NC Buffistae a heads up when the Asheville one's due. And I am so envious about the Oxford summer!

The status is NOT quo.

SO excited about Kristin's English programme. Yay for her having to study along with the rest of us...

Ha! Like I don't study all the time right now! Every time I teach a new book, I have to study my ass off about the history, culture, author, etc. in order to teach it. Seriously, I am so excited to only be responsible for my own work, I can't even tell you.

And thanks everyone! Now here's hoping I actually get IN.

Yeah, I know, but now you can join the other side once again and be graded.

You'll get in. They want the best, don't they??

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

Why are you so stupid, stupid day?

Hee! That *was* me! Cookie for Lee, and I'm glad I was able to do something to bring a smile to your face, Kristin.
