Maybe a nice hot shower?

Yeah. I think that's what I'm gonna do.

I've actually been working really hard today. I've sent three math homework assignments to my professor (out of 11 total, so it really is a lot). Granted, they were all started, but today I pushed through the tough problems I hadn't wanted to/been able to do. And, I've written a couple of pages on the final paper for that class and scheduled the final exam. But, for some reason my brain doesn't think that's enough. It doesn't help that I'm getting a lot of pressure from my dad today to get the stuff done.

I think I'm hormonal, 'cause I haven't had this much trouble in a couple of months, and I was doing fine earlier.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

We picked middle names based on 1) we like them and 2) they sounded good with the first name.

That's what my parents did. My sister liked her first name middle name combination so much, she dropped the last name altogether.

You have done a lot, vw, and deserve a break. I hope the shower helps.

Well, I came into work late, took an extra long lunch and am considering leaving early. What to do, what to do.

What is even happening?

I'm so sorry, Valerie. That's a lot of hard work, and if you've got hormonal triggers coming into play too, that's the exhaustion/hormone double whammy. It is Friday. You have a whole weekend before you, and you are a grade 'ho. You're going to handle your school work the right way. You are an excellent student.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

vw, that's a lot of work that you've gotten done today, and you deserve a break now. (When I've had a whole stack of work like that, what I've usually done is set aside certain hours when I'll work on it, and work as hard as I can during those hours, and then stop when those hours are up. It's the only way I can keep myself from getting too obsessed with getting everything done.)

Also, I've got a random "tell me how off from normal I am" question. I've been getting a lot of cuts lately, and I suspect it's partially from EDS. But I have no idea what "normal" is to compare to. So: Do you still have scars from skinned knees when you were a kid? Are they red and/or raised? Also, I tend to bleed from about 3-4 nicks per leg whenever I shave. Normal? Not normal?

Thanks, guys.

I took a nice, hot shower and feel much better. I've got my favorite flannel jammies on with my red fuzzy slipper socks that Em's mom gave me for Christmas a year ago. I'm gonna move back to the couch in a bit and take the rest of the day off of school work. Tomorrow is another day.

I also talked to my dad, and I think he's gonna back off a bit. He means well, but it can really add pressure when I'm already putting a ton of pressure on myself.

and if you've got hormonal triggers coming into play too, that's the exhaustion/hormone double whammy.

I really think that's part of it. My body's still getting used to the IUD and I don't think it's worked out all the hormonal kinks yet. I really have been doing well, and I need to remember that and cut myself some slack when I do have a bit of a rough time.

and you are a grade 'ho.

That I am.

Hil, that's normal for me. Other people may be more dexterous.

Robin, I'm glad you're getting things taken care of. I hope it's as easy as possible.

Yay for the Jessica male sprog! I don't think I've said that yet, though I've thought it a lot. It's very exciting news. That's going to be one awesome kid.

I get a lot of nicks when shaving unless I have a brand new blade. My childhood scars are pretty much all gone, though. The only ones that have really stick around are from burns, the cuts and scrapes all faded within a few years.

No idea how normal that is.
