And I now realize that I didn't need to think about "ideal" at all -- just needed to put it as "what weight would give an equivalent height/weight ratio" and "what weight would give an equivalent BMI".

Back from the gyno. As I suspected, my fibroids appear have grown and are wreaking all kinds of womanly-related havoc. I have to go in for an ultrasound, which I am sorta looking forward to, since it's fun to see your insides while they are, you know, still inside you. It looks like hysterectomy is a definite possibility--have any bitches had one?

I'm sorry, Robin. I haven't had a hysterectomy, but my mom and a good friend of mine both had them. They take a fair bit of recovery. Also, make sure you discuss sexual function with whoever's handling the surgery. Some take woman's orgasms as a serious health consideration, others are less concerned, and evidently how the hysterectomy is performed can have an impact on orgasms. Not trying to be scary--you just need to make sure you and the surgeon are on the same page there.
