Damn. don't love Martha Stewart , but I am looking through her book Simple Home Solutions and in the houshokld organization section I just found 5 - easy , obvious and strangely brilliant things. Like getting a fie folder and putting sandpaper in there by grit size. DH has tons of sandpaper, an this is an obvious solution - and then he would be able to glance and see what he needed. Worth checking out of you library. I don't know if anyone needs to buy it- the solutions are that simple -

I scooted on my back for lo, I was lazy even then. Didn't bother rolling over or learning to crawl.
The downside: I bumped my head a lot.
