Nora, what do you need?
Spike's Bitches 34: They're All Slime and Antlers
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
I need a specific journal article. The cite:
Martin, J. R. (1991). The contradiction and challenge of the educated woman. Women's Studies Quarterly, XIX (1 & 2), 66-27.
I have been able to track down issue XX in 1992, but I can't find anything earlier than that!
I can't find the article just yet, but I've found a lot of stuff that refers to it, and I see 2 errors in the citation as you have it, which might be hindering your search. First, it's pages 6-27, not 66-27.
Second -- and you'd think this wouldn't be a big deal, but I put the title in quotes and it only gave me 1 result -- the version of the title most commonly used has an extra "the" before "challenge."
That is, instead of "The contradiction and challenge of the educated woman." it's "The contradiction and the challenge of the educated woman."
That's probably of no help to you, and I'm still looking.
ai yi yi. Found the article in a book by the author and it's available at the Uni that I work at (as opposed to the one I study at - Boston College-, good thing where I work has a world class li-berry, otherwise I'd never get no book-learnin'.)
So I will pick it up tomorrow. But, damn. I have the journal resources of TWO universities at my fingers and I couldn't find it. I am bummed. I hate BC's library interface anyway though.
Heh. It makes me feel strangely smug to know that my prof sucks at citation. (I C&P'd directly from the syllabus)
Don't worry about it, I found my backup. I'm just majorly frustrated about not being able to find it. Well, I found the other one I needed very easily, so I'ma blame the stupid journal.
I haven't found the article online either, but it looks like it's held in at least 684 libraries worldwide. If you didn't have access to it at work, Boston College could probably get it for you through interlibrary loan. They could probably get it for you in electronic format, and probably within a day. And you could place the request online tonight at [link] , although they probably wouldn't process it until the morning.
I'm sorry, but I used to be an interlibrary loan librarian, and I just can't help myself Nora.
I'ma blame the stupid journal.
I'm just enough of a 12-year-old to point out that, in my search, I found that the abbreviation for the journal title is "Women's Stud Q."
Heh. "Stud."
Wonder what happened to Studs A through P?
Nora, my school's online library has the abstract for that article but not the full article.
Wonder what happened to Studs A through P?It's a refractory period thing... They're resting.
