Okay---jumping back in a second before I go to bed.
If Zoe does have a medical reason for her behaviour then I'm willing to give her some kind of allowances but so far we have no proof of this only speculation. If she does have a medical reason then, well, we shouldn't warn her and figure out something.
However, if she is a troll , then we do need to warn her. Warning her won't changer her behaviour but it will lead to her getting banned, yes I realize that if Zoe were to recieve another warning she would be suspended. However, if she is acting to deliberatly disrupt our community then that's what we need to do in order to end the disruption.
This isn't a by-invitation party. It's more of a public square where you can wander away from the guy who keeps talking about shower curtain rings.
And it was a "just suppose".
t deletia
point I was making is useless.
It's more of a public square where you can wander away from the guy who keeps talking about shower curtain rings.
What about the person that shouts homophobic slogans while you're trying to talk about penguin lust?
Thing is, if it's disruptive it's disruptive - no matter the reasons why.
I know it was a just suppose... Mine is too, really.
But it's not just talking about shower rings, it's jumping into conversations and being provocative in a not-very-nice way. If it were just talking about shower rings, MARCIE would take care of it.
If she's deliberatly provoking people to get them upset then she's being a troll, she maybe doing it on a smaller scale but it's still deliberate.
Not to mention the fact that if (excluding the day after a new show) I see a huge jump in posts in Buffy/Angel thread my first thought is to wonder what Zoe has said now to piss people off and dread reading the thread. Even if she said nothing at all that's still my first thought.
Kat why is your point useless? I didn't think it was, myself.
jumping into conversations and being provocative in a not-very-nice way
I feel like warning for rude behaivor (as opposed to attacking or abusive behaivor) is a little too Orwellian.
But, dude, check the Community Standards.
What about prolonged rudeness after being politely asked (many, many times) to please watch one's tone? It ends up feeling kind of like the person just doesn't care that she's pissing people off. I do believe that in Zoe's case she is not able to modify her behavior to conform to the rules of etiquette in Buffistaville. But that doesn't mean she should be allowed to treat people with disrespect when everyone has been more than patient with her. Yes, lately people have been rude, but in the threads I've been in with her, it was only after a lot of provocation.
This to me is a perfectly justifiable reason for warning someone with the full intent of banning them if they do not change their pattern of behavior.
