Guy #1: Man, there are so many hipsters around. I hate hipsters! Guy #2: You're at the wrong place. That's like going to Vegas only to say "I hate titties!" --The Warsaw, Williamsburg (OINY)

What about prolonged rudeness after being politely asked (many, many times) to please watch one's tone? It ends up feeling kind of like the person just doesn't care that she's pissing people off. I do believe that in Zoe's case she is not able to modify her behavior to conform to the rules of etiquette in Buffistaville. But that doesn't mean she should be allowed to treat people with disrespect when everyone has been more than patient with her. Yes, lately people have been rude, but in the threads I've been in with her, it was only after a lot of provocation.

This to me is a perfectly justifiable reason for warning someone with the full intent of banning them if they do not change their pattern of behavior.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Not to mention the fact that if (excluding the day after a new show) I see a huge jump in posts in Buffy/Angel thread my first thought is to wonder what Zoe has said now to piss people off and dread reading the thread.

I know. And, personally, I'm more concerned by the pile-ons than the inspirations for them.

I know our Community Standards basically consist of "don't be a jerk"-- which makes the jerky-ness in response just a bad as the initial jerkage. I guess I'm feeling a little log in my eye/mote in my brother's here-- the people who DEFINATELY know better aren't even following the rules and I feel like they (we, to be honest) need to lay off if we're going to have a leg to stand on.

As a member of the private school board (or whatever) I'm saying that I think it's too far.

Thanks for all the fish.

As a member of the private school board (or whatever) I'm saying that I think it's too far.

It hasn't gone anywhere yet. And Zoe has been informed of the discussion, this isn't private.

I'm saying that I think a warning is too far, that I think it's Orwellian.

I'd also like to note how hard the banning we DID do was on this board as a whole and that it should be avoided at almost all costs. Asking people to chill a little seems reasonable.

I think Mieskie was more than a prig. AND I think the banning happened too quickly.

And telling is fine, it's the "official" stamp on a stompy foot warning that has me concerned.
