Debate the finer points of upcoming Buffista ballots
A thread for the formal discussion of proposed changes to Buffista policy prior to voting. Only open following an official proposal that has been seconded. We are entirely pointy here so natter is strongly discouraged.
Though I feel like I want to make a filibuster joke.
I'm kind of against discouraging Natter. I'm not saying that we want it to turn into a discussion about cats and dieting, but if this thread is any experience, we're going to need some nattery-type posts for levity's sake, if nothing else.

At the risk of sounding utterly clueless, what on earth does this title mean?
Secondly, I won't say any more about the emotional issues I raised. I'm a little disappointed that the actual Bureacracy issues got lost in there, to whit: I was unhappy with the announcement, both the wording and the decision not to put it in Press.

I like the Dead Horse title, because that's so what's gonna happen. Or maybe Plei's Like Sartre, Only Longer (or whatever it was).
Ah. I've once again demonstrated that I've never heard of any piece of music, ever. No resonance for me whatsoever, but if other folks want it....

Thirdly? The rules are unclear on the point of coming back under other names, coming back after banning and so on.
They say
If you don't listen to the warning, you will be suspended for two months. And if you come back unreformed, you will be banned. Banning is rare and very much a last resort.
That says that if we suspend Mieskie, he waits out the suspension, comes back and is still unpleasant, we ban him. It's clearly intended to deal only with the situation of a poster who complies with a ban, but doesn't learn the lesson. It has no reference to people who come back as another username immediately after suspension to get their last word in.
We don't have a policy on that.
Fair point, brenda. I'd assumed that offenders would be asked to Doblerize or otherwise informally warned (preferably more than once) first.
The Dead Horse title makes me sad. Even though I voted against the new thread, I want to believe that it's going to be useful and productive discussion.
