One quibble on the position summaries:

Please, we are closing discussion for six months once the issue is voted on.

This implies that this has been decided on. I know it's been discussed a lot, but it's not official yet, right? I'd be happier with something along the lines of "we may be closing discussion for a time (such as six months) once the issue is voted on".

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Very well-summarized arguments for and against, that was a good job indeed!

PS I move we change the name of the Gang of Fourteen to the Invisible Legislators. Unfortunately I can't quite locate the original quotation, but it was to the effect that poets are the invisible legislators of history. Maybe Victor or Thessaly know it better....

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

Changed. That was where I was quoting from someone and kept the original wording. Oops!

Our wings are not tired.

Would it muddy the waters more, or less, to go back and vote a second time? Not suggesting it, just asking the question.

I only have one double vote, and the choices are identical, and they are sent a few seconds apart, so clealy just an error. If someone (RL) made an error when they sent their ballot and would like to correct it I don't mind making the change. Send me a note.

Wasn't the six month thing part of what we already voted? if not, does that mean we have to have another vote on this? Wasn't closing discussion once something was decided one of the main points of voting for voting?

Sophia and everyone, thanks so much for writing up that pros&cons thing. It's amazingly helpful.

Damn.

This is my fault. I asked if there was anything else we should have on this ballot - so I should have checked.

We actually decided there was too much on the ballot to put that on, way back when I asked. So not your fault. Hivemind and one time decided against it. Also, there are 3 choices that people have bandied about, and we haven't decided how to deal with that.

Sophia and everyone, thanks so much for writing up that pros&cons thing. It's amazingly helpful.

They really are. I think this is useful for the community on future votes. Except most of the future votes will be more self-evident.
