Ooo, I like that.
I love that Kat and I both had 22 posts, yet I had less than a 3rd of the wordiness. Go ecomony of words! Or possibly Kat's posts had actual content.
Nah. I'm just a blabber. I was so excited! It was all...Look Laura and I are matchy match! My posts are much more with the fluff than Laura, apparently.
But I really don't mind being one of a very few people who is interested in spending a lot of time in this thread dealing with all this stuff.
I liked it too. Cause this is the first time stats have come out and I'm not the biggest blabber in that area. Woo hoo.
I thought that I was in the dread Group of 14. And I, for one, am really offended by the comment. When I thought I was one of those people, it felt like the implication was, "YOU FREAKS who keep talking about X!" And it also felt really divisive as if to imply the 14 people who preceeded PMM on the previous stats were some cabal who worked as a borg mind to torture everyone else. In reality, I think the people who post a lot do so because they AREN'T in agreement. So they keep discussing until they find some places where they overlap. Which is cool, even if it is exhausting.
I'm weighing in on the Natter title. I like X-treme Natter, but for myself, I don't need the colon and all that follow it. Or, for the Vin Diesel fans, we could go with Natter xXx.
t Pedant It's Gang, not group. It's a pun thing.
And it also felt really divisive as if to imply the 14 people who preceeded PMM on the previous stats were some cabal who worked as a borg mind to torture everyone else.
Frankly, I felt the same way when the "it's not a real consensus, it's just whoever's in Bureaucracy at the time" complaints started to lead to this whole voting thing in the first place.
So now, because of that, it's a slightly different group of however-many people doing the bulk of the talking and decision-making, but nothing, really, has changed.
IJS.
Natter xXx.
Ooh ooh ooh!!
Yeah, I like xXx too. Cute.
It's Gang, not group. It's a pun thing.
Okay. Be a pedant. Doesn't make it any less offensive.
Frankly, I felt the same way when the "it's not a real consensus, it's just whoever's in Bureaucracy at the time" complaints started to lead to this whole voting thing in the first place.
I can see that. And yet, I'm not really sure that the 60% of people talking are anywhere else near creating something that is like a consensus either.
Jessica, I know you are unhappy that people have decided to vote on things because you keep mentioning it. I'm not sure what can be done at this point to make you feel better about the fact that people were displeased with how decisions were made previously.
edited to add, But I am sorry that you're upset and unhappy.
I felt the same way when the "it's not a real consensus, it's just whoever's in Bureaucracy at the time" complaints started to lead to this whole voting thing in the first place.
Jessica, were you one of the group asking for a movie thread? By which I mean, were you feeling unfairly singled out when people were using phrases like "bullshit consensus"?
So now, because of that, it's a slightly different group of however-many people doing the bulk of the talking and decision-making, but nothing, really, has changed.
I am honestly baffled by what you can have meant by that. Something huge and fundamental has changed. We're going to vote on stuff.
