The generation that could change the world is still looking for its car keys.

Eventually, I became one of the people making beer runs.

This might lighten the mood a bit. Or piss people off more.

You can't leave me to my own devices; my devices are Nap and Eat. -Zenkitty

I have to say that, despite having voted for voting, I have no decided to resuccitate my inner anarchist.

As such, with all due respect to your honorable ideas wolfram, I cannot support any notion of representation. I'm already starting to think that are previous anarchy was preferable to even the tiny modicum of democracy we've started here.

But this is just my $0.02, other Buffistas agreeing with me notwithstanding.

If I only had a brain...

In many of the threads I visit, people are saying "What's going on in Bureaucracy? I'm afraid to look." And people are replying "You really don't want to know."

This is a really bad sign.

I honestly think that the solution is not to find better ways to make decisions more efficiently. The solution is to stop picking at the scab for awhile.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

What I'm trying to do is have the membership imbue a few members with special dispensation

See that, right there? Noooooo. We have Stompies out of necessity, because once we moved to WX, we needed an admin or two to create threads and fix things. That's it. That's all.

What I'm trying to do is have the membership imbue a few members with special dispensation to bitch, moan, harangue, argue, scream, wail, and stomp on behalf of the rest of us.

Wolfram, I know what you're asking for. I understand your proposition.

I just disagree with it. I have heard your argument and I do not find it persuasive. Saying it again is not going to persuade me.

New, fully poseable Author!Knut.

What I'm trying to do is have the membership imbue a few members with special dispensation to bitch, moan, harangue, argue, scream, wail, and stomp on behalf of the rest of us.

We all have that power already, to an extent. Except for the screaming and wailing. It bothers us.

Frail my heart apart and play me a little Shady Grove

I went dark grey just before all this started. FTR, I would have voted "No Voting."

Carry on, I'll be over in the corner.

I've rethought my position on shutting up about this for a while, because one of the specific things that was voted on was a discussion period, which isn't even 1/2 over yet.

But I think that we NEED a new thread for this shit, and we need it pretty much now.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

We do not need a government. We do not want a government. The Stompies were chosen primarily based on their coding skills and timezone availability (for starting new threads). They are not, have never been, and will never be moderators of any kind.

This and Betsy's cocktail comment are key, IMHO.

How are you me? You need to stop that. Only I can be me. ~Kara

The baby's good Wolfram. Beautiful, red-gold eyed, white-haired and a pain in the butt in the middle of the night, but definitely beautiful.

I'm still disagreeing with you, just in case you were wondering (and so this is not a nattery post).
